Order: Deluxe Pho ($20) & Shrimp Net Rolls ($5)
I drove 70 miles each way to try MaMang at the Flint Farmers Market, and overall it was worth the trip.
The Deluxe Pho has a tasty broth that is not too salty and not greasy, which immediately sets it apart from a lot of average pho. The meat was very tender, and the meatballs were better than most Asian restaurants, avoiding that ultra-processed, rubbery texture that’s so common. The portion size is spot on for a farmers market setting—filling without being excessive, leaving room to try other vendors.
The Shrimp Net Rolls were very crispy with a good amount of shrimp, especially for $5, making them a clear value win. Simple, well-executed, and satisfying.
From a pricing standpoint, the pho is on the upper end, but given the quality, execution, and overall experience, it’s worth trying—especially if you appreciate clean broth and properly prepared meat.
Bottom line:
MaMang delivers high-quality, well-prepared Vietnamese food. The Shrimp Net Rolls are an easy yes, and the Deluxe Pho stands out for broth quality and meat texture. Not cheap, but absolutely worth a visit if you’re nearby—or willing to make the trip.
We ordered the Spam Musubi which was good, lacked…something…its just one and not the biggest portion for the cost in my opinion.
In addition to that we tried shrimp net rolls. The flavor was fantastic but unfortunately some of shrimp inside still had bits of the tail on.
We were really excited to try this spit and we were super disappointed but we’ll be trying it again at some point un hopes it was an off day.
Pho with just brisket and meatballs was $16
If you want hoison or Sriracha packets it’s 20 cents a packet.
Was disappointed that the price was drastically higher than on Google.
