My wife and I completely love the food at Mughal, but we have gotten consistently poorer service every time we went. We kept coming back because the food was so delicious. Last night, March 21 2014, we decided we will not be back.
We were seated, and another couple was seated nearly seven minutes after us. The waiter did not come by to take our order until he had seated the other couple in the table next to ours, immediately took their order, then took ours. He consistently ignored us throughout the meal while visiting the other table frequently. even looking away or walking away when I waved or called out for him. He asked the other table if they would like a dessert when they had finished eating, did not ask us, ignored at least four attempts from us to get the check so we could pay and leave, and then added the other table’s dessert to our ticket. This was by far the worst service we had ever gotten at a restaurant. I should note there was also a female worker who was very pleasant, efficient, and quick to solve our issues when we went to pay; if she had been out server, I would have been ecstatic. As it was, the man who “served” us was completely unacceptable.
The food is absolutely amazing. I dream about their seafood curry. My wife adores the chicken korma and goat curry. But after the last several visits, and especially last night, we won’t be back.

Some of the worst Indian food I have ever had. Went to lunch on Sunday 8/3 food was bland and totally lacked any spice. Service was poor with a surly young man who should not be in the hospitality industry. Indian is my favorite food having been lucky enough to partake all over the world.. Maybe this was to Birmingham taste, but if so they don’t know what they are missing.
