I’ve been trying Picante Mexican Restaurant a couple of times and tonight I decided to pick up the burger that I think deserves to be known in all New York, it’s one of my favorite and truly one of the best in the City (and I’ve tried tons of burgers in NYC!). The sweet potato bun is soft and the texture totally adds flavor to this burger, I went for the “Picante Burger” with fresh lettuce, cheese, avocado, freshly sliced onions, tomatoes, fresh jalapeños for the spicy side and a delicious sauce. The meat was cooked to perfection (I asked for medium rare) and it was juicy and tasty. Everything in this burger is so well balanced and full of flavor! Kudos to the chef! I say it again, it’s probably one of the best burgers in New York! Made fresh with passion and you can taste it! The staff is so kind and accommodating that I almost wouldn’t want to leave, the girls are smiling and are so nice to talk with. The overall atmosphere is friendly and informal and brought me back to the warm welcome I had in Mexico when I visited it years ago. It’s a great place with a super good staff and outstanding food! I live in the area and I promise I’ll be there more often…and you should too!

Delicious food and great service! Lots of vegetarian options. Our servers were very nice, helpful, and attentive. The food came out very quickly and we were able to get a seat on Saturday night. Will definitely be back!

Highly recommend this local Mexican spot on a Tuesday evening for tacos and margaritas. They had a live DJ and a comfortable sitting space. I enjoyed the passion fruit and tamarind margaritas. The birria tacos were good, but the loaded nachos were amazing and good a dish to sharing.

Food was on point! We got the chicken chimichanga which was perfectly fried and smothered in sauce… I practically licked the plate clean. We also got the veggie burrito was gigantic! Heads up they use a lot of mushrooms in the burrito if your not a big mushroom person. Plus their happy hour ran till 8pm which was awesome.

Pretty good- they have a very generous happy hour from 12-8pm which makes it a great spot to grab drinks with friends, including options like margaritas, mezcalitos, mojitos, etc. You can add a flavor for $1.
I came here for dinner after a show with some friends, and everyone really loved their meals! I wasn’t in the mood for something heavy so I got the ceviche, which was okay- looked pretty but it was a little heavy on the tomato sauce in my opinion, also the only seafood in it was whole shrimp from what I could tell.. Was expecting a little more from it but it’s just not their specialty I guess and that’s okay. I would try something else next time.
My friend got the skirt steak and I had a few bites and it was delicious!! Cooked to perfection. Another friend had the birria tacos and said they were divine. Overall, we all left happy and satisfied!!

STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE ! UNLESS YOU WANNA EAT HAIR
I ordered nachos for delivery & when my food arrived not only was it cold but there was a black hair sticking out ! GROSS I called to make a complaint and the lady told me to contact grubhub for a return the least you could have done was process a return yourself and apologize for the inconvenience
They use to be so good back in the day as of lately service and food quality and taste have been horrible as well as overpriced! Drinks for happy hour aren’t that good either I would grab a beer that about it.

I’ve never actually dined here yet but I do buy tubs of their salsa roja monthly. I rely on their salsa daily to heighten my breakfasts. It’s the perfect texture and spice. If you’re looking for a bulk salsa provider this is the #1 place in the whole city.

2nd time there, this time for happy hour while working remotely. Didn’t disappoint at all. The guacamole with the salsa verde I got the birria tacos super good, my fiancee got the 5 tacos he loved them. The sangria also on point. Definitely going back
