I recently visited Sushi Damu in Frisco with a friend who is a sushi connoisseur, and she assured me this place is top-notch. She wasn’t wrong. The all-you-can-eat sushi deal is fantastic, offering a wide variety of fresh and delicious options. While I didn’t love having to pay for drink refills, I understand the need to balance costs, especially with an all-you-can-eat deal.

The staff at Sushi Damu were cool and very attentive, adding to the positive experience. The restaurant was decently clean and had a nice, relaxed ambiance that made our meal enjoyable. It’s clear that Sushi Damu focuses on quality, which is crucial for a great sushi experience. Overall, I highly recommend this spot for both sushi lovers and those looking to try something new. Four stars!

Sushi Damu is my regular go-to spot for special occasions and casual dinners. It’s AYCE.

The food is always fresh, and the sushi quality is consistently great.

The owner is super kind and attentive, which really makes the experience even better. Always a good vibe here.

This is hands down my favorite sushi spot! The staff is always so friendly and welcoming, which makes every visit feel comfortable and enjoyable. The prices here beat every other sushi chain by far — whether you go for the all-you-can-eat option or their unbeatable deals on 2, 3, or 4 rolls, you’re getting amazing value.

The quality and presentation of the sushi are always on point. Some of our favorites are the Jessie Roll, Las Vegas Roll, Coconut Tempura, Danielle Roll, and Snow Roll. The crispy rice appetizer is also a must-try — it’s delicious!

What really stands out is how accommodating they are. My boyfriend has a crab allergy, and they are always so understanding and willing to remove it without hesitation. That kind of care and attention to detail makes us regulars here.

If you’re looking for fresh, flavorful sushi at the best prices with great service, this is the place to go!

This was our second time coming here for all-you-can-eat sushi, and once again, everything we ordered was absolutely delicious! We loved every bite. What really stood out this time was the great customer service. We noticed something in one of the dishes that didn’t look quite right and weren’t sure what it was. The manager came over right away, was super nice, and explained everything clearly. He made us feel comfortable and reassured us that it was totally safe to eat. We really appreciated how respectful and professional he was. Can’t wait to come back again!

This was truly the worst experience. We arrived at 7:00 PM, but the food did not start coming out until after 8:00 PM. Even after waiting 30–40 minutes, nothing was served, and at one point we even had to look for a server ourselves to get the dishes we had ordered.

From the appetizers to the rolls, everything came out all at once and very late, so we couldn’t even enjoy the meal properly. By then, the kids were already sleepy. Despite the fact that it was obvious we had young children with us, they included gratuity and charged the children as adults on the bill. There was not a single word of apology for that mistake. Instead, when we left food unfinished, they immediately said they would charge extra according to their policy. Since it was their rule, we paid the charge. However, while they insisted on enforcing their policy, they kept making excuses for their own service failures.

Even when we were placing our order, asking for the bill, or trying to hand over our credit card, the server never came to our table. We constantly had to look for someone. This is the first time we’ve ever had to chase down a server at a Japanese restaurant.

For the price we paid, this level of service is unacceptable, and we have ZERO intention of returning. There are plenty other places nearby that are so much better than Suhi Damu

We came in as a group of 5 around 8:00 PM, and that’s apparently where the problems started. It took 20 minutes just to get menus and water. Not appetizers. Not food. Just menus and water. The restaurant wasn’t even busy — we didn’t wait in line or anything — so there was really no excuse.

We chose the all-you-can-eat option, and they immediately told us we could only order 4 pieces max per person until the food comes out. Fine. We placed our first order around 8:30 PM… and didn’t get our first plate until 9:15 PM. Forty-five minutes. For sushi.

When the food finally arrived, it was shockingly bad. The sushi was cold, the rice was hard and cold, and everything tasted like it had been sitting out. It honestly felt like we were eating leftovers from someone else’s table. Some of the rolls we ordered multiple times never even showed up. Instead, they kept bringing out the simplest, easiest rolls like they were trying to do the bare minimum.

By the time we got our third plate, they suddenly told us we couldn’t order anything else because “last call was done.” No warning. No heads-up. No “hey, the kitchen is closing soon.” Nothing. When we asked if we could please put in one last order, they straight up said no because the chef was outside smoking a cigarette. I wish I was joking.

The servers were completely clueless and rude the entire night. We had to physically get up from our table every single time just to get their attention because they never checked on us. No refills, no follow-ups, no basic service. But somehow they were incredibly fast to bring the check before closing — with gratuity already added — without even acknowledging how terrible the experience was.

For an all-you-can-eat place, we barely got to eat. Save your money and your time. This place clearly doesn’t care.

They were able to accommodate a large group in short notice. Food was absolutely delicious. My kids devoured all the sushi rather quickly. We got some really good suggestions on what to order from the staff, who were on point. They continuously checked on us and made sure our beverages were filled, our table had everything we needed and the food was flowing.

Awesome service, delicious food, decent pricing. Would definitely go back again.

I’ll give it to the place, it’s a cute location. But that’s about it, the service is terrible. I waited 15 minutes just to receive a menu and a cup of water. She didn’t come back for at least another To ask what I would actually like to drink and take my order. The all you can eat, does not include miso soup, not an issue since they do not notify you of that prior, but when I ordered an extra miso soup, she never brought it to me. But tried to charge me for it. Since I was, I sat at The bar, Because of that, I could see where they were preparing the food, where I saw three different employees take bites of food with their bare hands then immediately touch other people’s food they were preparing. This was while I was eating my Overpriced/mediocre sushi roll I had ordered. I got halfway into my roll before I saw what they were doing, and lost my appetite. Decided I was going to pay and leave and mention to the waitress what was going on, but while waiting for her, I noticed she was in the kitchen, sitting there eating with them, since she’s not preparing food, that’s not as much of an issue, I understand people need to eat, but wash your hands When preparing others food. After waiting on my waitress for about 10 minutes again to ask Her to bring my check I finally got impatient and asked the other waitress when she finally walked up. Not only is this unprofessional and gross, it’s also unsanitary and against health code. I will never come back to this place. It’s absolutely disgusting, I wouldn’t recommend it to my worst enemy.

❌ When the miso is watered down and the tuna’s dyed red, you know you’ve made a bad sushi choice.

If you or a family member has an allergy to red dye, I suggest avoiding this restaurant completely.‼️

Only eat here if you’re cool with fake sushi. Pink rice from tuna dyed red, mystery fish that all taste the same, and miso soup that belongs in the trash.

Real tuna never bleeds pink into your rice. Sushi should be about quality and freshness, and this place completely flunks that.

I ditched hot dogs years ago because of red dyes, and even stopped buying salmon from Tom Thumb because it’s injected with “freshness” coloring. When I get sushi, I expect better or at the very least, real fish. Here? Nope.

The rainbow roll? Skip it. The ahi tuna bowl? Buried under sauce to hide the dye. Honestly, everything tasted the same. The salmon? Who knows. Beware and eat it at your own risk.

And the miso soup… wow. Usually I worry it’ll be too salty. Not here! Flawless flavorless dish water. You don’t even have to worry about a few tofu cubes, dehydrated mushrooms, or green onions. Zero freshness to be found here.
