This is a great Italian restaurant in a quanit area of town. I went on a Wednesday night with a group of hardworking and hungry associates. We arrived promptly at 6:15pm, found parking right outside and was greated by the friendliest server. The menu had great options but wasn’t overwhelming. Our group had the calamari with a tangy cocktail sauce for a starter and then moved on to the entrée portion of the meal. I ordered the chicken marsala over asparagus. The portion was a nice serving size and tasted great. Everyone was delighted by their meal and left in a great mood.

As soon as I walked in, I thought the atmosphere was lovely! I was tempted to sit inside but ended up on their cute patio since we still have some warmth — such a nice option. My server was wonderful and suggested a delicious mocktail. First time trying the pesto pea pasta and I’m so glad I did! The bruschetta was also amazing. I was too full for dessert this time, but I’ll definitely be back to try it and enjoy more of the cozy inside atmosphere.

Tried this restaurant for the first time, as a date night. We arrived early with reservations (recommended). The hostess was very friendly and we were seated immediately. There weren’t many other people, as it was very early for dinner service, but there were plenty of seating style options. We were sat at a high-top booth by the bar. It wasn’t too loud, or too busy. The music playing was at a perfect volume for background noise. My husband’s only negative comment on the atmosphere, was the lighting. It was a bit too dim for him, without his reading glasses, the menu was difficult to read. He also noted how there was limited lighting around the bar, which seemed odd to him. Fortunately, he was able to pull up the menu from the website and preview the options. Our wait staff were prompt, knowledgeable and courteous. Our waiter took our drink orders shortly after we had been seated. My husband ordered his usual, a Long Island. Although the signature cocktails looked appealing, I have an allergy to citrus and most every mixed drink at every establishment uses either lemon, lime or orange, so I ordered my usual, a Vodka Cranberry. Traditionally, the service staff asks if there is a brand preference for the primary liquor, but our waiter didn’t offer a selection, so I presume the drinks were made with the house choice alcohol. We both agreed, the drink could have been made with a little more finesse. Both seemed heavy handed on the liquor and they ended up being the only drinks we ordered. For starters, we ordered the gnocchi; it was delicious! The gnocchi were cooked soft and silky like an elevated dumpling. The sauce was generous, with a creamy and flavorful warmth. I also ordered the Butternut squash and spinach salad. The salad was a very libral portion. If you like goat cheese, you will Love this salad. For entrees we ordered the Chicken Marsala and the grilled shrimp. My husband had the Marsala, commenting that the chicken was expertly cooked, tender and juicy. He noted the sauce and seasoning could be more bold for his taste, but overall it was a very satisfying dish. I enjoyed the grilled shrimp. The shrimped were genuinely grilled with a good crispy char and flavorful seasoning. The size and number of shrimp were impressive as well. The star of the dish, in my opinion was the underlying risotto! The velvety, fluffy risotto was so fulfilling. I could of ate an entire dish of just this risotto. The addition of the thinly sliced zucchini and squash, was a brilliant finishing touch. For dessert, we ordered the chocolate truffle to share. Honestly, the portion appears modest, but the density and rich flavor of the truffle was more than filling. The delicate dollop of fresh cream and the sweet ripe berries paired immaculately with the boldness of the truffle. My husband saved a strawberry for the final bite of truffle for me, noting that he felt it was the perfect coupling. The bill, was as expected for an upscale, intimate dinner service for two. We plan to return for another date night soon. My only other note might be for some signage or clarification for the location of the restrooms.

Sarino is a truly authentic Italian restaurant in a cozy modern . Sarino is the perfect date night, dinner with friends or girls night out. Sarino’s vibe is laidback and feels warm and welcoming. Our group of 4 were quickly seated and started with drinks and the Tuna Crudo appetizer , raw tuna, lemon, capers, oil, shallots over crusty bread. This was possibly one of the best appetizers I’ve ever tasted ❤️. My only suggestion would be to increase the number of crudités to 4 instead of 3. The appetizer’s presentation was impeccable. I chose the Arrabarita pasta with house-made Italian sausage, red wine and spicy tomato . The pasta was perfectly al-dente with a comforting spicy sauce that perfectly balances the Italian sausage. Portions are generous, fairly priced and could easily be split between two people or make a great leftover dinner. The house made focaccia bread was phenomenal. The bread literally melts in your mouth and is perfectly seasoned with rosemary. The focaccia was very reasonably priced at $6 and was one of the best focaccia’s I’ve ever tasted. I gave service 4 instead of 5 stars only because the pace of the meal felt a little rushed. Sarino is a welcome addition to the Louisville restaurant scene. Highly recommend Sarino for an elevated dining experience in a relaxed setting!!

We visited on a weeknight and the dining room was almost empty. There were a few other couples and one small group by the bar. The server was curt and inattentive. It was very reminiscent of talking to an angsty teenager. The food was good. The charcuterie was disappointing. Portion sizes were smaller than expected; you get to pick which meats and cheeses, which is lovely, but the accoutrement was very below expectations. The pasta was delicious and if I went back, I would get a dish that focused on pasta.
Unfortunately, the patron they seated directly behind us was drowning in cologne and really affected the atmosphere. The choice to put such a strong smelling man by other patrons was poor, especially with so many empty tables. While the restaurant cannot control who comes, they can mitigate the impact they have on others. I was sitting farther from him than my husband, and he was still overwhelming.

Food was yummy as always but our server was the real star of the show.
Jamele was such a pro-the likes I rarely see anymore in the service industry. I watched her go above and beyond at every table she touched and obviously ours as well. She checked back with every course we had to make sure we enjoyed it, made sure our martinis were made to our liking, was friendly, smiley, and just all around amazing. I hope I remember to request her next time because she made our evening so much better

We showed up on a weekday evening and received a table right away. Service was prompt and good. Food was good as well. We were there on the coldest evening of the year and all the glass does cool the place down. It wasn’t the best Italian restaurant I’ve ever been at but I would eat there again.

Pasta was fresh and flavorful, we tried 4 different dishes and enjoyed them all. All of the appetizers were also delightful. If you go for a birthday they also provide a desert on the house. I would highly recommend this restaurant and will be back in the future!
Update: Came back for my birthday dinner tonight and had a wonderful time! Every dish was fantastic, I was thrilled to have another 5 star dinner. Thank you!

Delicious food with huge portions, excellent service from our server Abby who made us feel like we were her only priority even though she had other tables she treated the exact same way, and a beautiful atmosphere! Definitely glad we found this restaurant and I’d be happy to go back!

Solid food. We’ve been going here for years, but I do think the kitchen’s standard has been slipping.
The pasta used to be a perfect al dente, but it’s been overcooked the past few times I’ve dined here, once in person and several times take out. Portions have shrunk, like it has at many places.
Update after a few more visits: Not sure if there was a chef change, but Sarino has lost its passion. That’s the best way I can describe it. The sauces feel more and more premade without care, the focaccia has gone from a wet dream to quite boring and serving dry ends to folks who order food to go. The staff used to check that olive oil and balsamic were in the bag as per the menu, but they don’t anymore and have consistently missed it the last three times we’ve ordered there. I know these are small things, but it starts from the top.

I took my mom here for her birthday after talking up Sarino as the best thing since sliced bread. I really loved Sarino. I hadn’t been here for 9 months or so, and it was roundly lackluster. Food, service, missing menu items. Maybe they were just having a bad day, but I paid a pretty penny for something my mom didn’t enjoy for her birthday, and that stinks.
