Small restaurant w home-cooked meals. Delicious southern flavors. I had the beef tips w collard greens and Mac and cheese. Everything was cooked to order. The corn bread starter was also very good

Best food between Richmond and Raleigh-Durham. Stop and eat here if you can. Everything we got was super crispy, light, perfectly seasoned, and tasted homemade. The best of the best were the sweet potatoes waffle fries, cole slaw, grilled shrimp, and the fried chicarrons. Service is relaxed and friendly. Would definitely eat here again, the next time we’re in the area.

First time visit. Ordered grilled bourbon glazed salmon. Best salmon I have had in quite a while. Grilled well and the glaze must be house made because has a wonderful unique flavor. Vegetables also cooked well being firm (not overcooked) with a light sprinkling of salt & spices. French fries were also good. I will be back to try other selections.
I have been back but keep getting the salmon. Just too good to pass up.

Can’t say enough great things about V’s! Everything was great! The sweet potato waffle fries are fabulous. They are lightly coated in cinnamon and sugar then served with a special sauce on the side that tastes like honey, caramel and maple syrup. I plan to try everything on the menu. So far, everything has been fabulous!

Absolutely stellar in every way.
Not only is this a cute little spot, with a chill vibe, and amazing food, but the staff are all super friendly and treat you like family.
The place is spotless, including the restroom.

My wife and I couldn’t decide what to pick, so we got the cracklin’ chicharrones (fried chicken skins) and pan cornbread to start, then shared the brisket entree. That was PLENTY of food for the two of us, and we took home about half the cornbread.
The fried chicken skin isn’t just skin, it has thigh meat on it also, so it’s almost like flat chicken nuggets. And the sauce they come with is sort of a sweet chili garlic sauce. Stop reading this and order it!
The cornbread… Oh my. It was like your grandma made, but probably better (sorry nana), and comes in a little cast iron pan! It’s easily enough for 3-4 people to have a nice slice, or for 2 people to get nasty.
I normally never order brisket in a restaurant, since it tends to be kinda dry, but not here! It was super juicy and not over seasoned, either.
We subbed the mac and cheese for the waffle sweet potato fries and that was absolutely the right call. Those things are SICK. So fluffy and light. Not heavy or starchy like some I’ve had. Did I mention they come with caramel sauce?!
The fried cabbage was a surprise. It was a little spicy, which was awesome. It also had bacon in it, which is never wrong.
It’s pretty rare for every single element of a meal to be outstanding, but that was the case here. Even the prices were beyond reasonable.

First time here, Wow! This is a Jewel. Quality and all stars for me. I ordered the Fried Flounder, it came with amazing Hush Poppies, Cole Slaw and Fries. The Fish was perfectly fried. The ambiance, a place where you could build memories, the combination of soft R & B and the deco of the place adds to the flavor of the food. I’m coming back! Thank you V.

V’s had been recommended to me by two different people. So today I had to try it myself. The staff was very friendly and welcoming. The restaurant was very clean and posted a 99% health rating! I had the blackened catfish, baked potato, & pups. I was very happy with the dinner. I will be back!
