This is my first time patronizing a Mexican restaurant in Alexandria. Coming from
san Antonio were you find a Mexican restaurant in almost every commercial corner. I never had California style Mexican food. I am more used to authentic Mexican and TexMex. The food was good but not great. The enchiladas were a bit dry but all other food was ok. The service was good as well. The decor is not the greatest. The only thing I have an issue with is the charge for a side of guacamole $3.50. I should have saved the money and made my own guacamole at home. There are two photos with condiments and the small one is the guacamole.

Cozy, cute restaurant in Del Ray neighborhood – nice lighting and not too loud! Great fried jalepeno appetiser and giant burrito!

Had the chance to visit this place. I would say the design and vibes in there are really cool. I like seeing a lot of pictures and paintings hanging on the wall. The food on the other hand was hit and miss for me. I wish the salsa was more flavorful and spicy. The chicken taco platter I ordered felt devoid of personality. It was very generic. Next time I will try their drinks.

The only thing worth coming here for is the chips and salsa and the queso dip. The tortillas were ok. Everything else was yuck. The shrimp tacos and the fried fish tacos were meh and basically everything tasted the same – pork. Very high likelihood that they use the same oil and cooking surfaces to cook every item which creates this dirty food taste. All the tacos had cheese on them – not a fan. The plate of grilled shrimp came with undercooked, moist onion smothered in cheese. The pico de gallo wasn’t fresh and had 0 flavor – just added another unappetizing texture (like a raw zucchini or cucumber?) to the food.

Get here early, it’s small and the seats fill up quick! Definitely do yourself a favor and get the cheese dip appetizer. SO GOOD. I also loved the LA crispy taco with chicken. The kids meals included a lot and the kids enjoyed the cheese quesadillas. My husband said the burrito was OK and the shrimp taco was also OK. But they include a lot of meat in their tacos which was nice. Good service, fast, and cute decor.

We have been coming to TaqPob for over 20 years. We love the tostada and the shrimp tacos. Last week we got take out for a small group. A few of our items did not make it into the bag, honest mistake. The next day, without even asking, the food was refunded to my credit card.

Fantastic green chilie burrito! So wet and delicious red sauce. My partner-in-crime had 2 x Braised pork tacos and they were fabulous!

Always excellent margaritas – my favorite is the habenero! Full platters or individual tacos to choose from. I enjoyed the yummy shrimp taco and the delicious frijoles charros today, with the complimentary chips and great salsa!

Came here in place of a packed los tips on cinco de mayo, very pleased with the switch! Everything from the chips/salsa to the massive burrito felt very authentic. As you can see by the photos, everything had a healthy portion of sauce which really enhanced the savory flavors of my burrito. As for the margs, my table was a split decision on them. I thought they were okay but 2 of my dining partners were underwhelmed. Still giving 5 stars for great service and the sauuuucccee baby

A Truly Dismal Taco Experience
My recent visit to this Mexican restaurant was, frankly, the worst taco experience of my life. Flies inside the restaurant immediately signaled a lack of hygiene. We ordered the Baja fish and shrimp tacos, both of which arrived ice cold with what appeared to be old coleslaw. When I asked about the temperature, the waiter bizarrely responded, “that’s because the coleslaw is cold.” We couldn’t finish the disgusting tacos—it felt like an insult to Mexican food. Never again
