I ordered the Tonkotsu Ramen over the phone and was pretty disappointed with the experience from start to finish. First off, the pricing online is completely inaccurate—I was charged nearly double what was listed. That alone was frustrating, but I decided to give it a shot anyway.
When I got back to my hotel, I discovered the ramen was packed in a flimsy to-go container with no bowl provided, making it a messy hassle to eat. The broth tasted like it had been watered down to stretch it out—completely lacking the richness Tonkotsu is known for. On top of that, the egg wasn’t even the traditional marinated ramen egg—it was just a plain boiled egg thrown in, which really added to the underwhelming presentation.
Easily one of the most disappointing ramen experiences I’ve had.

Best in town! Food is amazing. The salad is 1000X fresh! Sushi even better. Lolita was our server today, make sure you ask for her. She was attentive and even catered to our special needs of getting steak from Fillet Mignon from next door! It was a perfect night indeed. Jolen was the sushi master thanks man!

Dinner was great… Especially considering it was a party of 13! Somehow our server managed to keep everything straight and we had a wonderful experience while taking up two tables. We’ve been there on different visits and tried quite a bit of their delicious sushi but this evening we went for more traditional hibachi and Raman. The servings of Raman were so large that it could’ve easily served two kids, and that is probably what we would do in the future. And the drinks were definitely spot on!
It’s definitely an older building, and that is evident in the decor and layout, but it also offers plenty of parking as well.

The food here was definitely good and worth coming back for. Their nigiri was very good, the ramen was good. Felt skimped on the portion a bit, especially in comparison to some other ramen places around here. The store was extremely low stock on all their items, but we still got the ramen we came for. They were also cash only, but we appreciated that they pointed out a nearby ATM for us. Service was slow despite being uncrowded, but the waitresses were nice and the drinks well-mixed by the barista.

Everything looks great except I didn’t understand why our appetizer and our soup was served with our Sushi dinner? I would have liked to receive all those items a little bit more staggered so that I didn’t have to stuff my face really fast before my soup got cold. For some people the music might be too loud when the hibachi chef comes out with a stereo under their cart, it’s really cool I think it would be really fun or an extroverted crowd. If you have noise sensitivity or your child does I would not recommend.

The food was great. The service not so much. At our table, we had a mix of sushi and Ramen ordered. The sushi was out 20 minutes while we waited over an hour for Ramen. It was disappointing having to have half the table waiting to eat. After our Ramen finally came out, our server was just checked out. She didn’t check on us after that. Had to keep grabbing other servers to get drinks and to go stuff.

The RAMEN here is absolute MAGIC. 5 stars is an understatement. Everyone needs to experience this. A GREAT QUANTITY of time & passion is engraved into every bowl of ramen that is pushed out of this kitchen. Very family friendly restaurant great house dressing very good sake. The sushi was out of this world amazing. The Ramen is one of the best in eastern North Carolina. Wonderful selection of food very friendly atmosphere between the waitresses management was really good. Well taken care of great prices just an all round good hibachi steak restaurant to bring your family to and eat.

My review is actually for the service. There was a perfect storm of things that happened to negatively impact our visit, which was a huge let down for our 5 year old and I was without a doubt never visiting again. However, upon bringing this to the managers attention, the customer service he provided was above and beyond & I will certainly be returning (with a cook in mind to request) because from 5 star to hole in a wall a restaurant is only as good as the food & the service, one without the other is pointless. Based on our experience, we’ll be returning soon to review them at their best.
