This is a local gem that attracts fans all the way from Marin county! Peaceful atomspher and outstanding service. Enjoy the life sweetness and friends company at Shemroon! Pet friendly! My only suggestion is to add kids favorite pastries such as cupcakes and donuts to daily menu.

I visited the newly opened Shemroon Cafe this week to grab a coffee and work for a bit. Parking was easy to find on the street, and there’s also a parking garage in Theater Square.
I ordered a Latte, and I have to say — it was one of the best I’ve ever had. The taste, roast, bitterness, and temperature were all perfect. I also tried a pastry, which was incredibly delicious with a subtle Persian touch from the chef.
The internet was fast, and the ambiance was calm and relaxing. Soft French music played in the background, not loud like many other coffee shops — perfect for working or unwinding. The staff were very kind and checked in on me a couple of times. They even offered me a free sample of their Dirty Masala Chai, which was fantastic and will definitely be my order next time.
Shemroon Cafe has definitely raised the bar for me — now it’s harder to rate other cafes! Bonus: the place is dog-friendly.

I finally found the breakfast I’ve been looking for for years, right here in the Bay Area! Everything I ate was incredibly delicious. I ordered the savory breakfast plate, and it tasted exactly like the breakfast I make at home every morning. And the tea… unbelievably good. They also have a sweet breakfast, which I’m definitely planning to try next time.
I also got the chocolate cake, and it was perfection — the texture was spot on, the sweetness was light and not overwhelming, and the cream was absolutely amazing. Truly the kind of dessert you can enjoy without feeling heavy.
I came all the way from Oakland, and it was absolutely worth it. They’re offering such an incredible service to the Orinda community. If I lived in Orinda, I’d try to come here every day.

Oh my goodness, this cafe is so adorable! The staff are sooo sweet and they made me feel calm. It’s my first time here and I feel at home. Some people are here with friends, some are here working on their laptops. I’ll definitely be back. I got the Persian tea with rosewater and it’s a fun new flavor I’ve never tried before.

High quality cafe in quaint Orinda. I went in for the first time today and tried the hot dog, and a coffee and a pastry. Each one was equally delicious. The chai masala was incredible and paired nicely with one of the best almond cakes I’ve had. Plus the service is really great. It’s so refreshing to see a nice family-run small business in the heart of Orinda. I’ll definitely be heading back there!

This is a gem for our town! Shemroon is exactly what a coffee shop should be. The family and staff are incredibly friendly and personable, the pastry is really excellent, and the coffee drinks are great. In particular though is the iced tea. It is a Persian blend and is the best I’ve ever had. We are so thrilled to have Shemroon here…definitely give them a try!!!
