Rick’s Café Boatyard offers a beautiful dining experience with a great view and friendly, attentive staff. The atmosphere was relaxing and perfect for enjoying a nice meal by the water. I ordered the Beef Short Rib Grilled Cheese, which was good but could’ve used more seasoning to really bring out the flavor. On the other hand, the French fries were perfectly crispy and seasoned just right. The service was excellent throughout my visit, and the overall vibe of the restaurant made it enjoyable. Even though my main dish didn’t completely impress, I still had a pleasant experience. I’d definitely consider coming back next time I’m in town to try something different from their menu. Four solid stars for great service, nice scenery, and a comfortable dining atmosphere.

Don’t miss this jewel of a restaurant if you are visiting Indianapolis. Locals know what a fantastic restaurant this is. Our server, Ann, was professional and an obviously highly skilled server. Our brunch party of 15 was well-served. Meal service flowed smoothly and was well-timed. The food was fantastic. Looking forward to the next visit!

I was visiting from out of town and we decided to check out this lovely spot. We chose the screened outdoor seating area and were greeted right away, which was a nice surprise! As soon as we sat down, our drink orders were taken, Meal order taken and before we knew it, our meals arrived in 10 minutes. The food was amazing, and the portions were larger than we expected, so we happily took some home for later!

We visited Rick’s last night for my daughter’s 15th Birthday. We made a reservation a week prior. As soon as we arrived our table of 20 was ready. Absolutely love Rick’s. The food is great and reasonably priced. The atmosphere outside is phenomenal, beautiful view of Eagle Creek Revisor. Large bars both inside and out, and phenomenal service. Our last visit was on a Saturday night and it was jam packed. Seated at the time of our reservation. Order taken immediately, food & drinks came out super fast as always. My favorite outdoor dining spot in Indy by far, we’re frequent flyers. If you haven’t been it’s a must visit.

Excellent experience. My waiter, Justin made some really good recommendations. I started with the crab cakes. For my main course, fried catfish with collard greens. It was really good. Justin was very friendly, attentive, and funny. I will be returning.
