The employees that maintain the Deli and Bakery alone seem lost (i.e. when a Ptacek or entirely Trained manager is absent).
There is an absence of Law. Which only leads to chaos.
If there was a SOLID set of Guidelines..say a book, or a course, or a certificate one can earn, then perhaps the feelings of being lost, hopeless, and uneducated would disperse.
Pass-Along knowledge is a highly unacceptable method of training any person for a job! Especially one that involves serving food and drink!
I love the atmosphere of this Deli, but the “Always Over Working” doesn’t need to exist. And every employees catchphrase: “Let Me Ask, I Don’t Know” needs to stop.
Create a handout or worksheet..
-List the Do’s and Don’ts.
-Explain Why’s for the How’s.
-Illustrate and Demonstrate accepted behavior
-Detail Law and Codes pertaining to specific Machinary, proper Food Handling, Acceptable and Safe Cleaning Tools and Methods, and perhaps inform all employees of State or Store guidelines or rules regarding restroom use, breaking times and Laws regarding age groups and Rest Periods.
Communication is Fundamental in Succeeding as a Team.
