La Cocina PR delivers homestyle Puerto Rican flavors that hit the spot! The roasted chicken was juicy and perfectly seasoned, paired with fluffy white rice that soaked up all the savory juices. The pastelón (layered sweet plantains with ground beef and cheese) was a standout—rich, sweet, and satisfying.
The cozy, no-frills vibe and friendly service make you feel right at home. A must-visit in Travis for anyone craving genuine Puerto Rican comfort food. Don’t miss this hidden gem!

Cannot express how amazing this place is. I go here daily after work to what feels like a home. Employees are so polite. You cannot go wrong with this place. The food is immaculate not too salty not too bland. Perfect in between. Makes you feel at home! Will be visiting time and time again. Thank you for bringing a bit of Puerto Rico to Staten Island! Best Latin food spot on the island for sure!

I went with my family today. Quick snap shot: Great food, very clean, organized, plenty of parking, affordable prices, and generous portions! You will not be disappointed whether you are in search of a quick bite, lunch or dinner. As a Puerto Rican, I find the blends of flavor in our food to be a part of our culture. Always searching for the taste of our island, I can say this restaurant will remind you of home and is worth a visit. My brother is also particular, as myself, when it comes to our PR food. This certainly exceeded his expectations, so much so, he had three Alcapurrias! Many great options, notably would like to highlight some great picadera (appetizers): the Alcapurrias are a must try, ranking among top I have had across many NY and NJ Puerto Rican restaurants, the beef Empanada was excellent and reminded me of a very old school Puerto Rican bodega in Sunset Park that used to have amazing empanadas, the Pincho de Pollo (Chicken Skewer) tasted like the Pinchos you will have on the island of Puerto Rico. The owners take pride in sharing our enriched culture by a means of incorporating many of our traditional meals. Additionally, family is at the center of our traditions and you will certainly witness very strong family ties and be a part of that homey feel. This will be my go to Puerto Rican Restaurant!

This place is a Gem. The owners are amazing and welcoming along with their children. Clean and food is authentic, reminds me of home without having to travel to PR. Some food is made to order which is even worth the wait because is not fast food or food that has been out for hours. I can eat here every day. If you’re not used to seasoning your food well maybe a fast food place would be for you. ( for me this is just like ny grandmother cooking) My favorite place to go in staten island.

It took me a while to pay a visit to the new HOT real Puerto Rican food restaurant in Staten Island, La Cocina PR. I finally made it. You can’t go wrong with a place that exceeds your expectations. Liked it so much that I ended up crossing the bridge and paying the toll, not once but three times in ten days. Great humble people and great food. So stop making excuses and head to La Cocina PR on Victory Blvd. Charlie and Yezenia will be waiting to take care of you.
