I had the byob Benny which is create your own eggs Benedict this was the best eggs Benedict I have ever had and I am a snob when it comes to that as it is my favorite breakfast I also had there homemade peach jam my boyfriend had the country breakfast all so amazing and fresh. Our waitress was amazing I think she might have been a owner as she stated that she made the peach jam!! Anywhere she was fabulous!! I give this place a 10 out of 10 will definitely be back and did i mention they have morning cocktails like bloody Mary’s and mimosas!!

First off, we were very early for our reservation and the staff told us not to leave, we will make room for you until your tablenis ready. They were so nice and helpful. So she made a spot and we sat there and wound up making quite a few friends while waiting.

Now on to the meal. Our waitress Brooklyn was awesome. Lots of energy, funny, just fill of personality and attentive to our needs.

Phenomenal food! I had the shrimp and grits. When it was sat down in front of me, it looked amazing and then tasted better once I mixed it all up. The small bits of andouille sausage really set it apart.

My wife had the fried chicken. While I tried it and lived it, it may not be for everyone. It has a hint of sweetness to it. But the Mac and cheese was spot on.

Finally…the creme brule. Outstanding. No fruit, just original and we destroyed it.

Make a reservation here and treat yourself. You wont be disappointed!

Review update: I’ve decided to remove a star due to the unfriendly environment. We have been a handful of times now and none of the staff is very friendly or joyful. Our breakfast experience was even worse and the waitress was completely unattentive. The “energy” is definitely important when dining out.

Health foodie approved! Appetizer, salad, meal, drinks… This place is absolutely delicious! We all agreed this was one of the best meals we have ever had. I loved the crunchy skin on the catch of the day (salmon). I had never had that before. Some meals are a bit pricey but the flavor is over the top! I love that everything is made in house. Happy hour is from 3-6 with draft beers only being 3$. We will visit here often.

Wine Down is one of those places we keep trying in hopes it’ll get better. The food isn’t the problem! It’s delicious. It’s the vibe and the service that isn’t enjoyable. We were sat at a tiny table in the corner where there was no air flow and it felt crowded. There was a lemon seed in our “clean” water glass, which should have been a warning. Our server was not attentive, left our finished oyster shooters on the table despite it being crowded and stinky. (Oyster shooters were also not good or worth $9) The server did not check in, was not very personable, didn’t offer accurate descriptions of food when we had questions, and even felt awkward at times. We enjoyed our food but disliked being in the space so much we ordered our entrees to go. Again, food was good, there just doesn’t seem to be a lot of care in how the place operates. Like, the “clean” water glasses should be checked before put on a table for guests. I’d love to give them another chance at some point, but it’s too expensive not to enjoy the experience.

This review is for the dinner service. Breakfast is great here. When I went for an early dinner, it was not very busy and it took way too long to bring out raw oysters (almost 30 min). My burger was a greasy mess which made the bread rip and fall apart and drip all over the place. The jalapeño hush puppies came out completely burned and when we asked for them to be remade, the waitress said “this is how they are made and always look”…which can’t be true considering how many times I’ve ordered any kind of hushpuppies at other restaurants, these were burned and dark brown. I really wanted to enjoy dinner here like I enjoy the breakfast, but it was a complete miss.

Wine Down is a solid neighborhood restaurant. They’ve established themselves and present a fairly consistent experience and food product.
If I was to nitpick, it would be temperature and service. It’s always too warm in the restaurant. I see other reviews referencing the same thing. Is this not an easy fix?!
And service needs to be improved. The waitresses are not trained to deliver that extra “oomph” that Wine Down is striving for. They don’t need much, it’s not Malones after all, but it’s also not Chilis….something in between.

Awesome restaurant in a must-do! Don’t torture yourself with cracker barrel, come and eat real food. I have the garden egg platter and it was awesome. The dinner selections of seared salmon and New York strips are at a very reasonable price. The atmosphere is fun and relaxing.
I’ve been in a restaurant Hotel business for 45 years and this is all a wonderful Hidden Gem!

Absolutely exquisite food. We had the goat cheese balls for our appetizer, and it was out of this world. The creamy and fluffy texture of the cheese was awesome. For my meal, I had the pork tenderloin, and the flavors and texture were complex and phenomenal. So delicious. They had a great wine selection as well. Can’t wait to go back in a few weeks.
