We visited on a Saturday morning and completely understood the posted 1.5-hour dining limit. However, from the moment I sat down the service felt extremely rushed. Within minutes of being seated (while waiting for my friend), the server asked if I was ready to order. When my friend arrived shortly after, she returned again to take our order before we’d even had time to properly look at the menu.
About 30–45 minutes into breakfast, I had simply paused from eating when the server reached for my plate and asked if I was done. It felt awkward in the moment and I ended up letting her take it even though I hadn’t finished my food. Around the one-hour mark, she asked if we were ready to pay. After we paid, she removed my drink from the table assuming I was done drinking it. My friend had to stop her from taking hers as well. We were still well within the 1.5-hour window, and there was no line waiting for tables.
The repeated attempts to clear our table made us feel rushed and unwelcome.
The payment process was also uncomfortable. When I went to complete the tip portion I tried to pull the device in my direction to privately tip, the server pulled it back in her direction when I did this. Not wanting to cause a scene and there not being an option to not tip I ended up selecting the lowest tip option of 20%. Which at this point I did not feel the server had earned.
Again, the food and drinks were great, but the service was extremely disappointing and turned what should have been an enjoyable breakfast into an uncomfortable experience.
I got the special, the Breakfast Sampler and Bananas Foster French toast. Both were great, and highly recommended.
> Rice fritters (itself 2* too mushy and soggy for my taste, thankfully the jam help to eat it easier)
> Age dried steak & eggs (3* on the steak but the rest 2*, potatoes was too mushy almost like mashed potatoes w no taste: steak was good quality but a bit too salty for my taste
Don’t order the taro coffee (1*), just sugar & milk w foam
We were a bit disappointed, have high hope on this place since so many positive reviews
The atmosphere and the wait staff are all amazing!
The lavender vanilla latte was delicious – didn’t taste burnt and the lavender was perfect.
The biscuits and gravy were good but the eggs weren’t seasoned. The breakfast burrito ended up being too soggy for me to hold because of the tomato salsa inside the burrito (also comes with a side of salsa so they should just leave it out). The ham and bacon in the burrito were so good and thick cut. And the potatoes were soft and seasoned. The cheese wasn’t melted all the way either. The fruit was good except the very dry grapefruit.
Items ordered: lavender vanilla latte, pumpkin spice Bundt cake, biscuits and gravy, breakfast burrito, and a side of fruit.
