I went here to have dinner when I was in the area. They have Chicken Pot Pie on the menu, so I went with it.
They have Chicken staff was decent, but the pot pie was a bit of a disappointment as the pie crust is only over the top of it. I for one prefer to have pie crust on the bottom too, like an actual pie. We had an order of wings, they were supposedly Buffalo, but they had no sauce and were some sort of dry rub – not what I was expecting/hoping for.
Wife had the Broiled Fisherman’s Platter. She said it was “Okay”, but one of them was a little dry.
Maybe the food would have been better if I ordered totally different items.
Prices were average, there was plenty of parking, and the area is safe as far as I can tell.

We arrived and had a reservation, we were seated right away. No wait, very nice the waitress came over and was super good! The food was amazing and came out faster than we expected, I had whole belly clams which took me back to my childhood! They were done perfectly and the fries with cole slaw. As we were finishing our meal the next room started to get a bit louder as it was the bar area you expect some noise, however some of the guest were using language that is not appropriate for a family establishment and some of the wait staff were not only taking pictures but also joining in with language, yelling words that other diners do not need to hear!!! Their were two other tables in my section with couples eating and all of them were offended by the lewd comments and language that was being used at a louder than normal tone. If they asked these people to quiet down or stop serving them alcohol which was fueling the language it would have been better. I don’t think I will be going back to repeat this experience anytime soon. Too bad as the food was really good !! If I am paying to dine out with prices being what they are I want to enjoy it fully.

We like the variety at Charlie’s Place and always enjoy our food. The breakfast is awesomeness. The greatest thing is if the order is not perfect the way you like it Charlie takes it back in the kitchen and fixes it with no issues. Always great service and the atmosphere is nice. Never feel rushed. We have to sit the bar area because it’s handicapped accessible and it’s very enjoyable. We have never had to wait long to get a table. Even when busy.

First time here, but definitely returning. I tried the French onion soup (now one of the best I’ve ever tasted), seafood stuffed mushrooms (definitely the best), coleslaw (also exceptional) and the BBQ brisket sandwich (perfect). I definitely recommend coming here!!

The food was good here! I had the seafood platter. It had fish shrimp and scallops with asparagus and broccoli! For an appetizer, we had seafood stuffed mushrooms!

Small place, very outdated and loud. The food was bland and overpriced. Burger was overcooked and they forgot the pickle, but the server never came back for us to request it. A large party did come in right after us, and they were otherwise nice. The bland food was a letdown though.

We went there for the very first time the other day, and completely enjoyed ourselves! It’s newly taken over by a local restauranteur who has a great track record.
The food was delicious and the service was perfect! We had Greta, and she was absolutely delightful!
I ordered the shrimp and mango salad, which was scrumptious, and my husband ordered the love salad, which was delicious with a side of the garlic chicken wings that were cooked to perfection not greasy just delicious !
So, yeah, definitely check it out. The only thing I would comment is that the building could be updated to reflect a fresher look-which I’m sure the new owner has plans for!

A wonderful lunch cooked to perfection. Delicious fisherman platter with broiled haddock, scallops, shrimp with cooked to order onion rings & roasted asparagus. Wife had a generous very pleased with her haddock fish and chips. Found a 3% on check a surcharge for using a credit card (against Connecticut laws)
