It became one of my spots whenever I visited Juneau. Good Internet and coffee. It is a kind of local Starbucks. The muffins are amazing. The prices not different from the rest of downtown area cafés. There is a small area dedicated to souvenirs. It can be very busy during the high season.

A Hidden Gem in Juneau: Hadley at Heritage Coffee
Tucked away from the bustling cruise ship crowds, Heritage Coffee offers the perfect respite for travelers seeking an authentic taste of Juneau’s local charm. What makes this quaint coffee spot truly special isn’t just its cozy atmosphere, it’s the exceptional service from staff like Hadley, who transforms a simple coffee run into a memorable experience.
When Hadley recommended the Strawberry Amaretto White Mocha Latte, I’ll admit I was skeptical. It’s not something I would have ever chosen from the menu, but her enthusiasm was infectious. That recommendation turned out to be nothing short of brilliant, this unique creation has completely won me over, and I honestly can’t imagine ordering anything else on future visits.
The drink pairs beautifully with their fresh blueberry scone, creating a combination that perfectly captures the essence of Alaska’s local flavors. The attention to detail in both the food and beverages reflects the care this hometown establishment puts into every aspect of their service.
What strikes you immediately is the genuine warmth of the staff and their impressively fast service, despite the obvious care they put into each order. The smiles are authentic, the atmosphere is welcoming, and the whole experience feels like a warm hug from Juneau itself.
For anyone visiting Alaska, Heritage Coffee isn’t just a coffee stop, it’s an essential part of the journey. This little haven offers exactly what weary travelers need: exceptional coffee, delicious treats, friendly faces, and a few precious minutes of tranquility away from the tourist hustle. It’s earned a permanent spot on my Alaska itinerary, and I suspect it will become a cherished tradition for many others as well.

Very nice atmosphere and fair prices. Four people in line ahead of us, so it took about 10 minutes to order. I just like really good black coffee. The brew of the day, Kenyan, was very good, but I was surprised that a coffee shop like this only had one choice available for regular brewed coffee.

The coffee was not good at all(Oregon chai latte) and the gelato was gritty. One of the two gave me instant diarrhea as well so that was fun. Girl with the black hair was very nice but the white girl with multi colored hair was rude and pushy. $20 to run to a toilet wasn’t my idea of a good time either way.

Delicious chicken sandwich. A nice tea but unfortunately the server seemed more interested in her phone. I guess it was a slow Sunday hard to keep motivated. No hello or welcome. I had to start the conversation.
Better to go to a different branch. Otherwise a warm nice space.

Cute place – don’t go by the unfortunately bland cover photo. It’s much nicer in person.
Plenty of indoor seating. Street parking. Great location.

The girls in the morning are always nice to me and my coffee is great! I’ve also noticed that the place has been more cleaner and welcoming this past year.

The coffee is absolutely fabulous!!! I was visiting from Philadelphia and we have a lot of great cafes in the area, but this is seriously my favorite coffee I’ve had in a very long time. We purchased a bag of the Black Wolf Blend for us (whole beans), it’s so smooth, low acidity in taste, and overall super fresh. I got my mom a bag of the Dark Sumatra and she loves it too. I miss their lattes and coffee, but glad I could bring some home (although I wished I would have stocked up). Great place and great coffee!

Lovely ambiance. We ordered 2 scones, a chocolate & and blueberry (chocolate was fantastic, blueberry was okay. Per my husband it tasted like cornbread with blueberries )
My mocha was delicious. Best I’ve had in Alaska, and the latte was good, too.
If I lived here, I’d come in a sit for a while.
Btw, do yourself a favor and grab a window seat facing the drug store. Parallel parking attempts are a hoot!

Not the greatest, but a nice place to sit. They had to remake the hot chocolate 3 times: first time, I swear it was just milk, then they put coffee in it, and finally on the 3rd try it was okay. The muffins were very dry but had a good taste. The ladies at the counter and making the coffee were very sweet and quick to remedy their mistakes. Overall, not a place I’d go for the food or drinks.
