Tamarind Restaurant is one of our favorite restaurants in the Norfolk area for authentic Indian cuisine. The dishes are always fresh and flavorful, and we especially recommend bhel and chili paneer. The restaurant features a simple, clean interior, and the service is attentive and welcoming. Catering is available for those interested.

Pav bhaji was good but the meat thali was a disaster. Blend and no flavor at all. Maybe it was old, when chicken starts to lose its taste. Came with bunch of other stuff that was average. Glad I didn’t order anything else

TAMARIND is a cozy Super-Clean restaurant. Lovely interior decor . Seating outside too under umbrellas.
The food is amazing. Menu on wall displays vegetarian & meat dishes from different parts of India! Wow the dishes are so tasteful!

Wow – excellent vegan Indian food! Super sweet service, wonderful menu and clearly marked vegan options, perfect portion sizes, and outdoor seating that’s warmed by the sun in the afternoon (making the lunch even more special)! Highly recommend.

Food is horrible, everything tasted stale. Worst rice I have had my whole life. Veg Curry had a lot of oil and yet tasted so bland and mushy. Naan/ Roti smelled and tasted like pre-made tortillas that you get at walmart, just heated up and with ghee/butter.
Would not recommend. First time I actually felt angry at the food i was served. A lot of firsts for me and none of it good.
Try other indian spots around the area.

Yesterday I ordered a Chicken65 to go. It seems they are giving like half in quantity than the similar shop with similar prices. The food was also not that tasty because I think it was cooked way earlier and then just mix and match during the order. Overall I am not happy with the food. I see now a days some indian restaurents do like this and want to make more profit by giving less quantities for the same price. I eat this Chicken65 in New Jersey, they were much more tasty, fresh, and lot more in quantity.

I’ll drive all the way across town to hit this spot, and I never go to Costco without stopping here too. This man is the sweetest human on earth and he will help you order something you’ll love. I wish I could eat here every day- the food is so high quality and the variety is amazing. Everything can come vegan and the tofu is satisfying and well executed. They serve Taj Mahal lager now too and some of the best ginger beer I’ve ever tasted. Come here ASAP and come often!

Eating here was a delight. So many options and I enjoyed the vegetarian choices. I chose the spring rolls and butter chicken. Both were delicious. I also order a mango lassi. The service was great and it smelled nice and clean. I will be back soon.

Located by Plabet Fitness in a strip mall. The location has ample parking. The interior has seating or 24 guests and an ordering area.
The menu is located outside of the restaurant and on a menu screen board inside. There is refrigerated drinks inside of a side by side door cooler.
You may pay by card, cash, or mobile tap with a tip service menu. On this visit I ordered a sev usal (mild), a bowl of white rice (sold separately), and garlic naan. Paired with a canned drink which, upon ordering, they’ll ask if it’s a canned or bottled drink.
The sev Usal was hot and delicious flavors of peas, beans, and Indian spices. The rice had carrot and pea chunks which were nice, and the Naan was a good balance of garlic & butter.
I would return as I have time and time again. This is a dish worth trying!

Love the Indian street food. So yummy! My favorite is the Sev Puri- it is served cold and they melt in your mouth. We have never tried anything here and not been impressed. I also love that they make everything to your spice level preference.
