We ate dinner here recently it was a mixed bag of good and average. The tuna tataki was very fresh. But zero sauce and there was no soy sauce on the table to mix with the wasabi. The spicy tuna taco was bland. The corn riblets were also bland it needed some salt mixed with the wasabi flavour. The wagu Sando was excellent. The soy noodle with wagu was pretty average. All noodle very little meat. Service was good. Atmosphere is nice. I would recommend certain and others not.

The food was amazing but a very long wait and small expensive portions. Waited an hour and then left hungry after sporadically delivered meals for 4 people. None of us ate togeather.
Staff were very nice and the features and Japanese artifacts in the restaurant are extremely cool to see.
However, my family left hungry and ended up eating a 2nd dinner at the Sushi place down the street.

Simply the best Japanese I’ve ever consumed (and there has been much consumed). Great atmosphere, style, vibe, service, people, friendliness and food that transported me to my many months spent living in Japan. Wagyu and pork katsu “Sando’s” that were divine and a karaage mushroom tamaki that presented some of the most beautifully blended flavours i can remember tasting. Highly recommend this gem of an izakaya.

This is a really great option in Burleigh Heads, highly recommend. Lots of great dishes, we enjoyed the Gyoza, sushi, karage chicken and chicken katsu curry. All very tasty! Good portion sizes too. And great wine list.

Picture this: You serendipitously discover the secret portal on the streets of Burleigh that takes you straight to a local Osaka style Izakaya. Hit after hit after hit. No skips. Each dish was intentional in its presentation. Even simple dishes like the tempura prawn and miso soup had attention to detail that distinguished itself from the standard you may expect to come across at any other joint. Quality ingredients, cracking decor, attentive service. Need I say more?

The chicken sando was so tasty! Can’t believe I hadn’t been here before. Great variety of food, everything was worth a mention. Great drinks offering too

Came here for some drinks and dinner and it was the best choice i could have made. I was solo dining so I sat at the bar. I loved travelling Japan and let me tell you this felt like I was sitting in a little bar in Kyoto. I had the Tuna Titaki and prawn dumplings with a Sapporo and later 2 glasses of Shiraz absolutely perfect recccomend to any food and drink lover

Happily stumbled upon this little dynamo! My family and I went looking for Mexican and landed on Japanese tacos instead. Welcoming staff that served up the most sumptuous meal that left us ruminating over the culinary experience the following day. Thank you for making our trip memorable! Highly recommend!

What a place, let’s start off with that. The lady that was serving our table was extremely kind and friendly. I could go on and on about the service and atmosphere. Speaking of, the place was very thought out and themed through every little detail. Little anime figurines could be seen throughout the restaurant and that’s a sign. The food selection was very limited, that’s the only bad thing about the restaurant. Any food we ordered tasted very nice and high quality. To summarize, the place has a very nice and cozy feel and the theme is very thought out. Limited in the food options but other than that a very special place. Definitely would recommend.

First time visiting today and I must say, it’s pretty average. For the amount of money they charge for food you really don’t get as much as you think. Had 2 of their martinis (wife had 3 of the cocktails) and didn’t feel a thing aside from my wallet crying for help ($22 each), then had the ebi tempura prawns that were $21 which wasn’t too bad but that’s also, $7 per prawn and not anything special. Then had the Morton bay bug sushi ($30) and wagyu short rib ($55). The bug sushi roll was the standard length and had just the bug inside the roll with coleslaw on top, low effort, and nothing special for the price. The wagyu short rib was very tender, fall off the bone! The texture was spot on but only tasted like a standard roast beef. The toast was amazing too but that dish was far from $55 amazing. Atmosphere was ok, they had anime playing on the projectors but they were looped with maybe a 10 minute clip of a show outside, pretty crammed on the inside. The gyoza’s were the best part to me. If you have loads of cash to burn and have a thirst for a forgettable Japanese meal in Burleigh, this is the one for you.
