Cheese curds came out still frozen, then after brought to the back, the same ones returned (frozen one bite still there). So had to send back again.
In the end it was tasty.

Trappers Bar and Grill — Smashburger Check-In
Stopped in for a business meeting with some young guns in the engineering world and didn’t expect to find a smashburger on the menu. Lucky me—I’m on a smashburger kick right now, trying to sample as many as possible without going overboard.
First impressions: solid neighborhood bar-and-grill vibes. Big picture windows overlooking the lake, clean dining room, clean bathrooms. Not the Taj Mahal—and it’s not trying to be. It’s supposed to be a good-time bar and grill, and that’s exactly what it is. Staff was friendly, smiley, and most importantly attentive. That always sets the tone.
Now the food. The smashburger didn’t quite deliver for me, but to be fair, the bar has been set pretty high lately. It was good—just not a knockout. That said, my business cohort ordered the big burger and absolutely wolfed it down. As soon as he started eating, it was like the green light came on. That’s a statement all by itself.
Waffle fries? Always a nice addition. Crisp, comforting, and exactly what you want with a burger and a conversation.
Bottom line: Trappers is a clean, friendly, easygoing spot with a lake view and attentive service. The smashburger didn’t top my current favorites, but the overall experience was solid—and judging by that big burger disappearing fast, they’re doing something right. Worth the stop.

A large group of us stopped here for lunch after a funeral down the road. It wasn’t very busy but there was only one employee working the entire restaurant. It took 45 minutes from the time we sat down until we got our food. If the food would have been good and hot it would have been worth it. Everyone one at the table said that their food was only marginal and they would not stop here again. I ordered the lunch special pulled pork sandwich. It was definitely not special. I have had many pulled pork sandwiches in my days, and this one was the worst I’ve ever had. The pork was overcooked and dried out in a pile of bbq sauce. The fries were cold and undercooked. I had the waitress take it back and off my bill. She wanted to know if I wanted to try something else. No thank you. When we got the bill the table next to us was added to our bill which I had to have removed. Not a good lunch experience with a large group of people. We won’t be stopping again.

I went on a Friday night with two friends. We were looking for a local place for drinks and decent food.
They were a full house and had a private party in addition to raffling meat and playing bingo which is great. However, they must have been short staffed. It took an hour and a half to get a sandwich and nachos. They forgot the food for one of us and it took another 20min to bring out her chicken fingers.
The only seats they had were not ideal. We were sat by the bar right by the speakers blaring the bingo call-outs and we could barely hear each other.
Food was ok. Service left much to be desired. Atmosphere was what you should expect from a local bar.
Not the place to bring conversations or relax/unwind, go for the bingo.

This is the second bad experience that I’ve had with Trappers and I figured it was a perfect time to leave a review. I went with some friends about a month ago for happy hour and the waitress was more intrigued with chatting it up with the regulars then consistently checking on us and taking our orders. We were there for about an hour and a half and I had to ask for a second beer. This evening, we ordered takeout. I’ll make this quick, we were given the wrong cost over the phone as well as not having the correct takeout order after we left. We were given a lame excuse of ” we are busy,” I’m sorry, but that’s not our problem.

Wow it is bad. I got the ‘smash’ burger which is not a smash burger. It is just a normal burger covered in disgusting cheese and a mess of nasty toppings. It cost us about 8 extra dollars for the sides. Just close down or fire anyone who has influence as to how the food is prepared. Does the cook even eat his own food? What a travesty. The place looks so cool too. Doesn’t matter people won’t be back.

My burger was not what I was expecting but I was really hungry so I ate it anyway. It’s was decent. I don’t remember the name but it said it was a burger when it was shredded pork. They took my drink before I completed it. BINGO was fun.

This place has good food, and our waitress was fine… but during a football game and a busy time there should be more than one bartender. The teenager bartender they had Sunday 10/19 was way overwhelmed. She’s trying to serve all the bar and make drinks for the servers. We waited 15 minutes for drinks when we ordered refills. 2 bartenders is a must during high times game times. Bloody Mary bar is huge and good too!!!
