Bowerman’s is exactly the kind of bakery and coffee shop that lives up to the hype. From the moment you walk in, you can tell this is a local favorite, and it’s easy to see why. The shop was extremely busy, with a steady line of people waiting 15 to 20 minutes, which only shows how popular and well-loved this place is. Even with the crowds, the staff were incredibly friendly, attentive, and efficient, making the wait completely worthwhile. The drinks were expedited quickly, and the overall flow of the shop made the experience enjoyable even during peak hours.
We ordered a blueberry hibiscus lemonade, a coffee, a variety of donuts, and a cinnamon roll to go. The lemonade was made fresh, cold, and refreshing, with the flavors of blueberry and hibiscus perfectly balanced — not too sweet and nothing overpowering. The coffee was served hot and brewed to perfection, with all the depth and richness you’d want from a quality cup. The donuts were delicious, fresh, and flavorful, but the real standout was the cinnamon roll. It was light, airy, and fluffy, with just the right amount of icing — enough to add sweetness without being messy or overwhelming. Since we got everything to go, the donuts came in a convenient bag for easy grab-and-go enjoyment, and the cinnamon roll came in a to-go container so we could enjoy it with a fork on the road.
The shop itself is full of interesting little details — from stories about the bakery to unique items available for purchase, there’s always something to catch your eye while waiting in line. Bowerman’s also offers seasonal flavors, and since we visited during the spring, I opted for something light and airy, which was perfect for the season. They also have seating available for anyone who wants to enjoy their food in-house, but takeout is handled seamlessly, making it great for travelers or anyone on the go.
Everything about Bowerman’s makes it clear why it’s such a beloved spot for locals and tourists alike. From the friendly service, efficiently made drinks, fresh bakery items, and bustling atmosphere to the attention to detail in every drink and pastry, this place delivers an exceptional experience. Whether you’re stopping by for a quick coffee and pastry, indulging in a seasonal treat, or picking up something to enjoy on the road, Bowerman’s is a must-visit in the area. I would definitely return and try more of their seasonal offerings next time.

I went on a wind chill -12 day to order takeout. The food was delicious and made it all the way back to Haworth Hotel warm. I would have never mixed blueberry with a power bowl but it was fantastic! I also got some baked goods for dessert.

This place has gotten so crowded on the weekend. Last time I went I waited a good 10 to 15 minutes and never got a table. The blueberry donuts are great. The meals are pretty good too. No real complaints. Dishes have odd combinations but overall it’s good. Coffee is decent. Not great. It is pretty inside and nicely decorated and if you can get there on a day that’s not too busy, you can enjoy yourself there. The weekend is very hectic.

My wife and I were staying at the Tulyp hotel a few blocks away and walked over to this restaurant for breakfast on a Sunday morning. They had seating outside and inside. It has a kind of farmhouse store vibe with various blueberry items on display for sale along with the tables where people are sitting.

When we walked in, there was a pretty big line and I thought that was the line to request a table, but it was a line to place an order. You have to order at the counter and then find a table yourself. I was a bit concerned about this because I wondered what we would do if there was no table available since every table was currently taken. We ordered a blueberry donut latte, a blueberry mimosa, Hash and Quiche and they handed us a number to place on our table. We were able to find a table right away and they brought our Latte and Mimosa to the table quickly, both of them were really good. The food was brought out about 10 minutes later. One other thing I found strange was you have to take your plates, glasses, cups and silverware to bins in the back when you are leaving your table and this along with the ordering process made it feel like a fast food restaurant and it’s really not fast food. With that said, I’d still come back here again because everything we had was really good but I wish they would make it more like a regular restaurant.

Very cute place to have a brunch with friends and family. We got pancakes, fiesta bowl and two peppermint mochas. We had to ask for extra peppermint as we didn’t taste it much at first. Fiesta bowl is indeed warming, has a little kick to it. But I couldn’t enjoy it. It’s too much of sauce, squash bites are either mushy or hard. It tastes very grease. I would recommend to add something to it that would take up that sauce to make it balanced. Maybe some grains: buckwheat, rice or quinoa? Otherwise, I think it could be a best side dish with smaller portion of it, but not as an entree.

Very chill food spot in downtown holland. The blueberry donut latte is epic. Chicken bacon ranch was solid.

Came in for lunch. Had a chicken sandwich and tomato soup, which were both delicious. Chicken breast , although juicy and meaty, was on the smaller side, especially for $18. Soup was perfect. Picked up a couple of donuts on our way out, and those were amazing. Dining area was cozy, but many dirty tables.

A nice bakery right in downtown. They have an awesome selection of bakery items.
We had lunch there and found the lines to be long. It seems to me that it is also quite expensive ($17 for a grilled chicken club)
They were also incredibly busy inside. It was difficult to find a table, and it was really loud.
I had a salad and we also shared the above mention grilled chicken sandwich. The food was really good, but as I said previously, it was quite pricey.

A solid 4 stars. The order-at-the-counter cafe had the potential to be more, but the entrees fell a little short of their potential.

The BBQ sandwich had very little coleslaw and was a wee bit salty and the power bowl was very heavy on squash, with about four cups, while light on other ingredients, as you can see from the photos.

A little tweaking and attention could easily make these entrees better.

Cute restaurant and bakery in downtown Holland, Michigan. It is bright and cherry inside. You order at the register then they bring it to your table. The $5 Blueberry Mimosa was delicious and very sweet. I had the cheddar quiche that was served with a light salad and a square of blueberry coffee cake. My husband had the small breakfast combo. Everything was delicious. We also got a peanut butter brownie to have later. It was very good. I marked down the service and atmosphere because we prefer table service and not having to hunt for the tableware and then bus our own table. The food is wonderful, it just could have been served differently.
