No frills. Just good coffee. Really great service. The only other time I’ve been to Illinois (other than the airport between flights) was with my Pop when I was 14 years old. I’m visiting my son who is in temporary work assignment and he recommended this place. So, while he’s working, I’m finding things to do. My Pop couldn’t drink coffee, but he was all about trains…heck, he even road around in boxcars as a young man. It’s been a long time since I’ve seen an open boxcar. This train had several. I sat in the icy parkway by lot nearby and reminisced about time with my Pop on the Iowa side of the border, as I waited for my son to get off work so we can go visit the arsenal museum on base.

Love the egg and chorizo sandwiches. Gave 4 stars as my last visit my bread was very hard like I could not chew it. Left a voice mail and my call has yet to be returned. I love supporting locals but the sandwiches are a little pricey to only be left disappointed.

Very tasty drip coffee. Hot and fresh. The food also looked good, but we were not hungry.

Never had been to this coffee store. The coffee was amazing!!! Unfortunately for me I love states away.
If you plan to go in parking could me a little concern.

Eggcellent breakfast sandwiches and coffee. A bit pricey though…$33 for two sandwiches, a small hot chocolate and New Orleans coffee. It was worth it though. Walked here from our hotel. No seating inside, a few picnic tables outside. They also have a drive through. Service was quick and friendly.

Hidden Gem Alert!
We usually hit the coffee shop by Rivercenter, but I happened to drive past this spot and wow — what a find! I got a caramel latte and a fried egg sandwich, and both were absolutely delicious. The coffee tastes fresh and smooth — not burnt or stale like some places. And the sandwich? So yummy!
Prices are totally reasonable too.
Highly recommend checking it out if you’re near The Adler or Rivercenter. Definitely bookmarking this for our next dance trip in the spring!

Went through the drive through and had the absolute pleasure of meeting Irene! One of the sweetest people ever! It was my first time and she was so welcoming and was patient with me! She was very informative on the products and gave me two AMAZING coffees! Highly recommend the cold brew concentrate with vanilla and brown sugar iced!! So good!! You can’t forget to get the chorizo egg sandwich!!! Our morning was made!! So happy we stopped here for breakfast! Going to become a regular just because of the service Irene gave alone!

Had their Oat Milk with brown sugar latte! It never disappoints! And their breakfast sandwichs and scones are also delicious! Just wish they were in Rock Island so I could visit more often! Yum!

Redband Coffee Co. is an institution in the area, but one I had not yet visited since returning to the Quad Cities Area a few years back. I’m not a huge coffee person, so I had little reason to seek them out. At any rate, I had recently had a sandwich at the Blue Spruce General Store and needed a walk, so what better place to walk to close by than Redband?
It definitely doesn’t look much different on foot than it does driving by – it occupies a relatively small red brick building that, if not for the signs indicating the place sells coffee, could be mistaken for a house on 4th street.
The interior is not much to speak about, either. A plain grey concrete slab floor, white drywalls, and a white ceiling with some suspended light fixtures – with nowhere to sit inside. This probably works well in the summer, as there are picnic tables outside west of the shop, but in the winter the clear means of getting your hot beverage is to just go through the drive thru.
I ended up ordering a hot chocolate (again, not a coffee person) and got the last peanut butter cookie they had available. I briefly sat at one of the picnic tables to pause and enjoy both. The hot chocolate is definitely on point – some kind of foam or cream on top, smooth and rich throughout – definitely some of the best I’ve had in the area. The cookie was similarly good – it was peanut buttery and just a little chewy, perfect to have with a hot chocolate.
Not sure I’d come back here again, if just for the fact that I typically like places I can sit down and enjoy a drink with a book or a newspaper. Still, both the hot chocolate and pastry were fantastic and I’d recommend the place to those who enjoy getting both through the drive thru on their way to work or elsewhere. Thanks, Redband!
