It’s very hectic when you walk in, because the line to order is waaay too close to the front door. The only trash can is inconveniently by the entry door as well. I Overlooked that tho, and we ordered two double cheeseburgers, two seasoned fries, 1 drink, 1 milkshake, and some fried pickles. Everything is À la cart, so they totally rip you off financially by not offering combos. It was $46 for about $12 worth of food cost….you’re better off going to a steakhouse for that price!
It was a lot of cash, but I told
Myself , “hopefully it’s delicious!”
It was not delicious folks. The cooks put absolutely no love into the food. I’m talking complete lack of seasoning and taste!
The burgers were waaay too thick and had no flavor. Just a big frozen patty with absolutely no seasoning, thrown on a bun with some condiments. It was not the worst burger I’ve ever had, but definitely in the lower tier.
Cheeseburger-4.1 out of 10
By appearance, the seasoned fries looked phenomenal. However, the taste was greasy and bland. Some were crispy and decent and others, mushy and wet. Made no sense really, hah.
Seasoned fries-5.7 out of 10
The fried pickles were spears, which is a bit more rare to find…most southern places do fried pickle chips. My girlfriend wasn’t interested at all in having spears, but I ate them, and it was the best part about the meal, because the batter was the only thing that had seasoning worth a damn
Fried pickle spears- 7.7 out of 10
My girlfriend‘s favorite thing to get there is the butterscotch milkshake, because it is a unique flavor and hard to find. I have ordered this milkshake for her dozens of times throughout the past 8 years through the drive-thru and it is always a light tan color. The girl hands, my girlfriend, the milkshake, and it’s a very dark brown color and tasted kinda coffee-esque. My girlfriend calmly told her that this is not normally how it looks/tastes, and the two girls behind the counter, proceeded to make another one…. Once again they failed to make it correctly, and then they kept putting their noses all up in it trying to smell it to see if it was the right flavor…and it was just a little weird. The girl was nice enough about trying to offer another option, and she ended up with a strawberry milkshake instead…but it wasn’t what she came there for, ya know?
I asked for a large Coke and for some reason was given a medium? I’m sitting there wondering if like I’m being punished because of what happened with the milkshake, hah. I did not feel like causing another scene so I sat there drinking my medium Coke with waaaay too much ice and ate the majority of my mediocre food.
That will be the last time I step inside to eat, and I highly recommend that you just stick to their ice cream and milkshakes, and do so through the drive-thru. In Hernando, you’re way better off going to Windy City Grill, one of the many Mexican restaurants, Or brick oven pizza. Do not waste your $ on food here.
As far as decor goes? The place has a very 80s odd but fun paint style feel about it, with random pictures of musicians up. The polar bears throwing snowballs out front is the best part about the aesthetic, by far.
Parking is mid. Not too inconvenient
Location is good, directly off interstate and 7-8 minutes from home.
I’m all about good seasoning in my food and places like this just reaaaally make me question how they stay open?
But in this part of Hernando, there’s not many eating options, so they get away with Mediocre product.
With better cooks, and more love, put into the food, this place could really take off… but It appears thy are content with the locals “settling” for their food.
It’s a very nostalgic place to see getting off of the interstate, but the food is nothing special.
