We ate at Mekiko Cantina in Ko Olina, Hawaii, 2/14/26 and overall had a good experience.
One highlight is they make their own corn tortillas in-house, and you can taste the difference. They also make their own corn chips, which were fresh and flavorful. The flour tortillas, however, are store-bought and not nearly as good.
Their salsa and guacamole was excellent — great flavor with a nice kick of heat without being overpowering.
The food overall was good and satisfying. One surprise for a Mexican restaurant was they didn’t offer queso, which felt like a missing staple.
Our server had only been serving for one week and did a great job. She was patient, attentive, and handled everything well, which we appreciated.
Pricing on the menu is on the higher side, but when you’re dining near a resort area, you should expect to pay resort pricing. Along with the forced gratuity for parties eight or more along with the 3% kitchen food tax.
Overall, good food, strong salsa, and solid service. Worth trying if you’re in Ko Olina.

Best fajitas I’ve had anywhere. And I’ve lived my entire 50+ years in California! I’ve gotten the chicken and shrimp fajitas four times from this place, and every time it’s fantastic. Plus the rice and beans are both excellent. And the habanero salsa is amazing and truly spicy hot. The service and atmosphere are also both great. And it’s only a five minute walk across the street from the Disney Aulani Resort. Oh and they make a really nice pina colada!!

When we got there for lunch was right at opening so we didn’t have to wait long for table. The staff were very friendly and helped us with their menu since it was our first time. The margarita that we ordered was huge! It definitely help quench our thirst and gave us a nice buzz. The entrees were all tasty and good portions as well.

Should be rated higher for sure! Great service and friendly staff! Went for lunch around 11 when they opened to celebrate one year anniversary with my husband. Got the margarita flight….liked how each margarita was very different. Usually margarita flights are just a different fruit flavor but these had more variety. Chips and salsa 10/10!! Got bacon wrapped shrimp which was also 10/10. I got the chicken taquitos and they were a 8/10. The real show stopper was the birria tacos! 12/10!!
Lots of parking around the area, you just have to pay. Paid $8 for two hours, not bad. They have indoor and outdoor seating. Shoutout to who I believe was the manager, he had a great playlist going of Spanish rock! Our server was also amazing!! Will be coming back for sure!! Go Cowboys ⭐️

Enjoyed my stop here. Came in during happy hour for tacos and some salsa. In the afternoon, the birds twittered with excitement saying “Another clumsy human has fallen into our corn tortilla trap.” I sat outside and the birds were present yet not overwhelming. Their songs made peace with the garbled sports casting done by some elderly guy inland. The charitable hand guides me towards sunset. Not too much longer now, with or without the goings on.

Awesome service, great atmosphere and vibes, pretty good food. The food was pretty good by all acounts, this definitely isn’t the best Mexican food but given were so far from the hubs of Mexican Flavors it definitely does the job! The Fajitas and Churros were fantastic, and the birria was a little lacking in flavor based on what we’re used to being from LA.

A great dining experience, with amazing food, amazing staff and all in a great location.
Just a short walk across from Aulani resort we found this beautiful Mexican restaurant.
The staff were so friendly and welcoming. I had the best Fajitas I’ve ever had. A combination of steak and chicken, in delicious spices, served on a skillet.
I would highly recommend a visit to Mekiko Cantina

Coming from the Midwest on the mainland, this is one of the best Mexican restaurants I’ve ever had. I ordered the triple salsa with nachos for an appetizer and the carnitas pork dish. Everything was full of flavor and delicious. It’s right across the street from the Four Seasons Ko Olina, so you can easily walk there in 5mins at most if you want to avoid the reasonable parking fee in the general plaza parking lot.

I would’ve added a food picture, but we absolutely inhaled it. We had a couple of appetizers, two fajita plates, and a margarita. The food was awesome and the servers were attentive, my water was never empty and the table stayed clear of old plates. Loved it.

We stopped by before the dinner slam. It was scrumtious, delicious. The enchilada burrito (I call it mojado) was bomb! The chips and salsa sampler was perfect. The fajitas were superb. I am going back tomorrow! Also the elote corn was mouth watering! If you are on Oahu this place is worth the drive.
