Out of töwner, looking for wings. They were delicious. My friend got the burger which also looked great. The wings I ordered were smoked then fried. I got the honey sriracha lime and I couldn’t be happier. Will come again.

This bar has a rich history and has been around for over 100 years. Great food, especially the burgers and hot cheese balls. Reasonably priced, and the drinks are poured stiff here. Can get rowdy on the weekends, but Thursday and Sunday are Karoke nights, which brings a great crowd. Back deck and bathrooms needs cleaned up and better taken care of, but I’m splitting hairs at this point. Great place to go any day of the week.

This was a hidden gem we found on a road trip to Kansas City! The wings were delicious, the tenderloin was incredible, and the fire house burger was just the right amount of spicy. The chips and cheese dip may be one of my favorite things I’ve eaten in a long time. To top it off the service was out of this world. We felt like regulars and loved our time there. We will be back anytime we are close!

Have not eaten here in a long time.
I have to say, maybe it was me but the hamburger- Mushroom Swiss was very bland.
We visited on the 1st for the Bloody Mary Bar which was bar minimum. But okay.
It was very chilly in there too.
The others had a different burger and it was good. Maybe it was just mine.
Our service was good. Our waitress was slower but attentive and very nice.
Will for sure be back to try something else.
((( I promise I didn’t see a fall…. if i did it would have been worth a star. )))

Some friends and I stopped here to grab some dinner. we chose a variety, 2 styles of wings, tacos, fried cheese balls. All the food was delicious! The wings were probably the best Ive had in a long time. The blue cheese tasted like it was homemade. The tacos were on special for Thursday night at $1.50 each. The tacos were deep fried flour tortilla with ground beef and the usual toppings. Yummy! I can’t even think of one negative thing to say about this place . we weren’t there very long but everyone, staff and other customers were pleasant and friendly.

Our party enjoyed the zombie wings and fried mushrooms as a start. The Clyde tenderloin was tender and tasty, and the burger flavorful. Typical midwest bar feel and good for a Monday night. Great service. Stick with a national beer though.

Cool little bar and grill. The smoked wings and the garlic cheese curds were spectacular. The place really fires after dinner. When I got there, it was sort of slow, but by 10pm it was packed. I come by this place a few times a year and will definitely stop again.

Decided to try First Ward House Bar based on a recommendation from a local. The bar has a lot of history and it shows. Our hostess, Bethanie, was wonderful. She is very personable. Pricing is reasonable compared to what we usually spend on food in Denver.
We started with the Vampire Baby garlic cheese curds. They were delicious.
We ordered four different lunch items today. Nachos w/brisket, a chicken wrap, wings and a SJFD burger.
The brisket was fantastic but that’s where the goodness stopped. The chips were crisp, but flavorless. The other condiments fresh, but the queso and salsa were bland.
The wings were incredibly over cooked and tough. The party eating them, said that they were almost un-chewable.
The chicken wrap was fresh, but forgettable. There was very little that made it stand out.
I was very excited about the burger when I ordered it. It had been highly recommended. While it looked good on the menu, the actual burger was very mediocre. Unfortunately they did not ask how I would like the burger prepared so it was incredibly overdone. The sauce was OK but nothing special to write home about. They do offer however, a zombie sauce that I tried and it was fantastic. The coleslaw was very good, very nice and creamy with a slight sweetness. I was also excited to try their homemade french fries. They too were over done, and the oil did not taste fresh so the fries came out a little bit over cooked and soggy at the same time, which I didn’t think was possible.
Overall it was okay “for pub food” but we would not come back for the food alone.
