I’m on a quest to spend time on each of NC’s 100 counties. Today took me to Polk County and the city of Tryon.
I was able to find a nice spot in the back with a good view, a place to plug-in so I could work for a bit, and WiFi.
I tried the banana nut muffin and the summer zen iced tea. Both were great! (The muffins come from the GreenLife Inn nearby).
Reasonable prices and easy on street parking (two hour limit) with lots of nice shops and galleries to explore nearby.
Overall friendly vibes, although I think the restroom could be just a little bit cleaner 😉
Will definitely pop in again the next time I’m in town!

The older lady and heavy set older man, who we believe is the owner were extremely grumpy during our visit. We used to come here regularly but the older lady is so off putting and completely ruins any kind of cozy/comfortable vibe here. She acts like a drill sergeant . Who knows though, you might get lucky and go in when there’s a pleasant part time worker in which I believe is on the weekends usually. There are three other coffee shops in town with really nice service consistently and their deserts are top notch in comparison with delicious breakfast items to boot.

Super cute shop. The iced chai lattes were good, but the peppermint mocha was probably the worst coffee I have ever had, unfortunately. Zero flavor. Definitely no mocha. I can’t recommend the coffee drinks unfortunately, but the teas are good.

Tryon Coffeehouse is everything you want in a local Café. A small homey vibe that feels familiar the second you walk in. After having a conversation with the owner you can feel the passion to create a local community space for all to enter be feel comfortable.
Their coffee selection is simple but versatile, and priced very well. And their baked goods are very tasty.
One of the best experiences i’ve had at a coffee shop, feels like truly organic from coffee to conversation.

Amazing coffee at a fantastic price. We tried 5 different drinks and each was perfectly balanced in flavor and creaminess. The syrups were local delicacies and there were lots of milk varieties. Even the ice cubes in the iced drinks were made of coffee!
Also, the barista was amazing and above-and-beyond kind when we slammed her with multiple rush orders. She is awesome!

Always love going to Tryon Coffeehouse on a day when I need a good ponder. Coffee is good, service is good, and the atmosphere is super old-school coffee shop vibes. Like F.r.i.e.n.d.s coffee shop without all the fake people and unrealistic relationships. Haha.

Went in this past Saturday morning and the barista was so friendly! Pastries were delicious and the environment welcomed me in like a warm hug. But I believe the service was what was stood out the most. I saw a customer make a pretty ridiculous request and the barista accommodated immediately. I don’t think I’ve ever been more impressed by such great service.

The coffee was amazing, and the barista was absolutely incredible! My fam had to run and couldn’t stay to get the coffees we’d paid for, and she first offered to walk them to us at the end of her shift, and then made them for us when we came back in half an hour later! She was so kind and considerate! Great service and great coffee.

Love the vibe of this place. Building and plaza were once Tryon’s automobile service station.
