There were many screens and sport collections. The vibe might be great. WiFi was fast. There were daily specials and happy hours. Speaking of the food, their burger was freshly fried and tasted not bad, but it was too oily for me. The bun was not soft. The mushroom made the burger taste better. The crispy fries tasted excellent with unlimited ketchup.

Firstly, the ambiance was confusing, to say the least. The loud, obscure hip hop music playing made it difficult to grasp that I was in a sports bar (i.e., That Mexican OT, Doja Cat, etc.). It seemed like they were trying to cater to a different crowd, which didn’t align with the local demographic. Maybe why they had six customers on a Thursday night.
On top of that, the lack of craft beer options was disappointing for a place that bills itself as a pub. The beer selection was limited to domestic and generic options.
I ordered the Southwestern Chicken Salad, which came smothered in sauce and had an excessive amount of sauce on the side. The portion was enormous, enough for two or three people, which was not what I expected from a salad.
Overall, if Joe’s Pub & Grille wants to succeed as a sports bar and grille in New Albany, they need to rethink their approach. It feels like they are trying to appeal to a different crowd with their music and lack of craft beer. It was a disappointing experience, and I hope they consider making some changes to better align with the local demographic. Perhaps Robert Irvine and the Restaurant Impossible team can help them find themselves.
