As soon I walked in the door, I was hit with a smell of spices and cooking that captured my sense of adventure and travel. I interacted with Josef and Drew, and both were extremely positive, welcoming, and helpful. The atmosphere is wonderful and the dining area is filled with live edge custom tables and seats. It only took a few minutes to prepare our meal. We had the Falafel Wrap, Zaatar, and hummus. All of our food was fresh, excellent tasting, and were larger portions than I expected. This will certainly
become a regular spot for us!

Having grown up in Shelton, I never would have anticipated seeing a Lebanese restaurant there. I was excited to try it. The portions were generous and the food was tasty. I enjoyed being able to choose the tea, or combination of teas, from the side table. The gentleman who took our order was delightful and the restaurant had a cozy feel to it.

It’s rare I feel called to go and leave a review, but this was straight up one of the best meals ever. Taste wise, it was just a new experience for me. First time trying Lebanese food… Everything was incredibly fresh, flavorful and home made tasting. And I felt really great after eating too. While most of the time I eat out, I feel slightly junky after. Probably the healthiest food option in Shelton! Looking forward to coming back

FANTASTIC!!!! My husband and I went in for a dinner date and from the moment we walked in the door to the time we left, we were treated with the best hospitality ever given here in Washington. We started out with Yola’s homemade lentil soup, then had beef and lamb with amazing sauces both with perfect flavor. Joseph told us great stories, served us real hot loose leaf tea from Lebanon- yum it paired beautifully with the Lebanon delight and pistachio desert. My husband said it made him home sick, he misses the hospitality and homemade cooking that we received from these wonderful people here. We found our favorite atmosphere to enjoy amazing food, service, and each other! Thank you for sharing your fabulous homemade foods with us!

The service was genuinely nice, so I hate writing this… but this shawarma was not it. I was expecting hot shaved meat on soft bread. Instead I got a cold filling wrapped in super thin bread that was tough, leathery, and honestly hard to chew. The flavor was actually good, which makes it even more frustrating. If the meat had been served hot (like shawarma usually is), I think the bread would’ve softened and this could’ve been great. As it was, my jaw got more of a workout than my tastebuds did.

The food was so good and the space has a lot of natural light. One of the best spots in Shelton. The owners are really great, too. Nice that they also have the option of fresh frozen home cooked meals in addition to takeaway.

I LOVE this place!! The owner Joseph and counter fellow were so kind and gave me tasters of a couple items while I waited for my wrap. I’ve been craving the red lentil soup since I tried it, and the wrap was so delicious! I also brought home some yellow raisin rice – blew me away. I wish this opened while I was living in Shelton, but I may come out from Olympia just for dinner – it’s that good!

This is my third time eating at From Yola and my first review. What a delightful birthday lunch celebration we had! My friend is both celiac and gluten free. So she had the chicken kabobs with rice and garlic sauce, and we had wraps. Drew gave her a complimentary birthday tea. It’s not every day you turn 90. After our meal, a birthday song came on over the speakers and Josef came out with a dessert sampler! Then my son guessed Drew to be a lot younger, so he was given two more treats. The atmosphere is very friendly and the food is great. We’ll be back later this month for my son’s birthday. He said it’s the best food he’s ever tasted. And I’m a pretty good cook.

Delicious food and friendly service! Have eaten from here twice now, takeout both times. We’ve tried the beef/lamb shawarma, chicken wrap, falafel, chicken and yellow rice plate, hummus, baba ghanoush, and some of the frozen flatbreads. Everything has been so so good, fresh and delicious. The guy who owns it is so nice and a joy to interact with. So happy to have From Yola here in town, we will keep coming back!

I wish I could swear in these reviews; food these good needs expletives to properly convey just how superior it is. I have no idea how this small town got lucky enough for this restaurant to open, but I am glad for it.
The owners are friendly and welcoming, easy to chat with; the inside is cozy and inviting; the flavors and food are incredible; and the prices are great.
This shawarma and cheese bread were the best I have had in my life. Lest you think I’m not qualified to make a decision, let me tell you a quick story. Prior to today, the best shawarma I had ever had was from a roadside cart in the little village of Incirlik, Turkey. That was 24 years ago, and I have compared every subsequent shawarma in the ensuing quarter of century to that one. Now I have a new standard to compare future shawarmas to, and it isn’t even close.
Thank you for sharing your culture and cuisine with the town. We will be faithful customers.
And let us know if you ever need any fresh lamb, we have plenty of sheep.
