We walked past this cafe bakery after our hike in the Belmont open space area. We had a good breakfast in the morning so we only wanted a small snack before our Valentine Day’s special dinner, so we ordered a crab musubi and a hot dog to share. The rice of the musubi was not as good as I had expected, and the overall musubi fell apart very easily so I was not too impressed by it. The hot dog was good, and the staff was very pleasant and courteous.

This place is pretty small but cute. There are not that many seats inside, and most people seem to be taking food to go. I got the tonkatsu quesadilla for $12 and it was essentially cabbage, corn, and tonkatsu, and cheese inside a tortilla(?) shell. It was an interesting item, but tasted pretty good.

Jiro cafe is an amazing hidden gem of a Japanese cafe nestled in the green hills of Belmont. The pastries and food here are top notch and authentic and this place is actually Japanese owned. Their yakisoba sandwiches to their katsu as well as the melon soda and delicious hojicha lattes transported me to the charming cafes in Ginza, Tokyo. So good!

I absolutely love Jiro Cafe and especially their musubi’s and cheesecakes. What a great small cafe/bakery in a beautiful location! It’s owned by a wonderful lady who is clearly very passionate about her work and taking care of guests, hopefully you get the chance to meet her during your visit!

Not a lot of japanese bakery selection here in the Bay Area, but this spot is a must-try.

Decided to try a large variety of the menu, and everything was a hit. Would def recommend getting the chocolate and matcha lattes; they are so rich and authentic which is rare to find even amongst drink specialized stores. Also would recommend the cream cornets and the tonkatsu sandwich; portion is huge!

Staff were all very friendly and professional; I you like your bread not too sweet, would def recommend.

What a quaint Japanese bakery and cafe with a very homey feel! The pastries are freshly baked daily and includes many Japanese favorites like ham and swiss bread, anpan (bun with sweet red bean filling), melon pan (round sweet bun topped by a crispy sugar cookie coating) and curry pan (fried bread with curry inside) as well as Japanese style bread. They have desserts such as custard pudding, coffee jello (yum!), and maritozo… etc (specials daily). They also serve savory Japanese entrees such as tonkatsu sando (sandwich), yakisoba sando, beef curry don and gyu don (beef rice bowl) as well as different types of onigiri (rice ball )… and even spam musubi, (how did Hawaiian get in the mix? 😛 ). Beverages includes various coffee, teas, lattes and sodas. My favorites here so far include black pepper bacon cheese bread, cold udon bowl, and apple pan. I wonder if om-rice will ever get on the menu here!
The store is on soft opening (sign still says “Ike’s Sandwiches”) with limited hours (check first). But if you’re in the neighborhood and want to try something delicious and beyond just seeing them in Japanese animes, this is the place for you! Yummy nomnoms with super friendly service not to be missed!

A delightful, quaint, and cute Japanese cafe!
It’s such a treat to have on the Peninsula. The katsu sandwich is solid. I love the cabbage to meat to sauce ratio. It is a messy one, so consider yourself warned. New items appeared since I visited the first time so make sure to visit more than once! I got the lychee soda. Perfectly sweetened, refreshing for a warm day. Cat bread is always a delight. Don’t sleep on this one!

Cute Japanese bakery/cafe in the San Carlos, Belmont area. The space is cozy and intimate inside, with roughly 10 seats. Lots of Japanese bread and hot food items at great prices – we tried their yakisoba bun and it was delicious. Also tried their Japanese purin (pudding) and tasted very authentic as well. Definitely recommend swinging by to try their food for lunch or a snack! Reminds us of cafes back in Japan.

This is the cutest little spot and has delicious treats! The Anya drawing on the front drew me into the store where I met the two sweetest women who were very happy to help me and tell me what everything was! I ordered this custard bread and they gave me an amazing fruit macaron on the house! The macaron was both light and sweet, and the custard bread was the best I ever had!! It wasn’t too sweet, and the custard was nice and thick inside soft bread. I will definitely stop by here again and recommend everyone try this at least once!

Happen to stop by after my haircut next store. Owners said it is good. Food was great. Fresh, tasty. Very good service. All ordering is automated. We had spam masubi and a pastry. Need to go back for the sandwiches.
