Prime Seafood Palace is a modern steakhouse offering a selection of beef, seafood, and vegetables all sourced from purveyors we love and value. Unexpected – a space to truly experience in person. The main entry is located in a quiet courtyard, drawing patrons away from the humming activity of Queen Street West. Inspired by Matty Matheson’s travels, East Coast roots, and appreciation for architecture, the menu nods to the classic steakhouse tradition while highlighting seasonal ingredients.

Reviews
The team went above and beyond. I felt truly welcomed, cared for, and incredibly well fed. I sat at the bar, where I got to watch Santana craft such a variety of drinks. That was so entertaining in itself, and she balanced it all effortlessly while making sure I was comfortable and looked after. Every single person who stopped by to hand me a drink or drop off food, was so lovely and nice. They really showed care and kindness and that was so refreshing to experience – it was like I was being greeted in a friends home. To top it off, the evening ended with my coat, already waiting for me at the exit and with a quick tour of the kitchen, which was such a thoughtful and memorable touch.
The entire team was fantastic and everything felt seamless from start to finish. Thank you, Prime Seafood. I will never forget this experience.
Food is top notch
Ceviche is mind blowing. Must try
Curry tastes very similar to what I tried at a Michelin restaurant in Thailand
Steak is okay I liked the chili sauce on the side
Basil ice cream was very refreshing!
Service is also V good
Felt welcomed! They also bring new dishes for each menu
One downside is that it takes very long for the food to come out.. lots of gaps between each menu
But overall highly recommend this place
10/10
We started off with the Sicilian Crudo, the fish were fresh and the sauce and garnish added a nice additional element of flavours. Surprisingly our favourite was the king fish, then the salmon and tuna was ok.
Second App was the beef tartare which came with Japanese milk bread on the side. It had a lot of pickle on it, so if you’re a fan of pickles such as myself you’ll like it. The Japanese milk bread was fresh, had a nice outer layer crisp and was very soft and light on the inside.
For the main entree we got an Australian Waygu steak which wasn’t on the written menu with a side of the potato. Potato was delicious, crispy on the outside and delicate on the inside with a side mayo dipping sauce. The steak itself was decent however for a similar price I think you could go to a high end steakhouse for more selection and better quality.
Overall was nice to try this place and service was great, not sure I’d say the food met the price values.
The space itself is unique and full of character. The main floor bathroom is worth a visit on its own, with a skylight, a Lake Erie map as the sink, and even a fancy toilet (and if there’s ever a toilet worth sitting on, this would be it!). Don’t forget to look up!
We came just after five without reservations and were lucky to get in. As we left, we saw people being turned away, which made us extra grateful to have snagged a table and the special prime rib, which was exceptional. They only have so many of the special each evening. Everything else we ordered was delicious, the wine was excellent, and the chocolate cake was so good we ended up bringing ours home to savor.
I’ve seen some mention the prices being high, but we felt they were fair, especially knowing that so much of what’s on the menu comes directly from local farmers. In today’s world, it’s something to be grateful for, not taken for granted, that farmers and chefs are still working this way to bring us incredible food. We also had a gift card which helped lessen the blow too but still prices are justified.
All in all, a memorable evening that we enjoyed for date night!
The ingredients are the best available. It was exciting to visit Matty Maddison Restaurant. (Last picture is the vanity in the bathroom..its a map of lake Erie and the dot on the right hand side is where Matt’s home is situated around the lake) This is a must place to eat and really have seafood and meat done perfect!
They allowed us to visit the kitchen….felt just like Television.
Favourites- Sicilian Crudo, Rutabaga, Fluke, Prime Rib (and lively horseradish), Palace bacon, Bread with 3 butters, chocolate cake and Key Lime Pie.
Many thanks again to the staff- from the door, to table side, to the kitchen for making it such a special night!
