Dick’s is probably the most iconic food in Seattle, so the fact that I’ve been living in the city for a couple years and have never had the burger is crazy. Finally, I was able to stop by late on a Friday night to pick it up.

Before I even get to the food, I want to comment on the efficiency of their ordering process. Having been through a bunch of painful ordering processes in the past, this is a breath of fresh air. There are several different counters, and at each, once you get to the front – you pay, and immediately get your food before exiting the line. This makes things so simple. Obviously, this means the burgers are pre-made and pre-wrapped, but since they’re constantly making and going through them so quickly, the burger you get has been made very recently.

Moving to the burger – I had the Dick’s Deluxe, which comes with two patties, melted American cheese, lettuce, relish, and some mayo.
The best part of this burger was the two meat patties. Compared to somewhere like McDonald’s, with its pre-frozen, sad, thin, beef patties – the patties here were fantastic. They were smashed excellently, and had a ton of crispy edges all around. A ton of that natural beef flavor was retained.
Each patty was pretty thin, but when going with the double-patty burger, I got the perfect amount of meat in each bite. This is why I really wouldn’t recommend going with one of the single patty burger options here – the Deluxe is the only way to go

The other ingredients on the burger were also quite nice. The cheese was pretty much melted perfectly. The lettuce and onions were good, and I liked the slightly tangy nature of the mayo as a complement. The buns were also nicely toasted, and accomplished their job

As dessert, I got the ice cream here. This was terrible. Do not get

For a price of just $6 with tax, this is a very cheap burger. I won’t say a single one is massive, but it’s definitely comparable in price (and even cheaper in many cases) to your average fast food burger. And I think the quality here is just better than what you’d find there. Plus, it’s always nice supporting a local place.

Overall, it’s a pretty good burger, at a really good price. 8.25/10

Not sure what the hype is. Just a regular burger joint. Fries had lots of skin on them. Burger was super thin. Nothing special. Almost no seating. Icks is the perfect name for this place was not impressed.

I was once told that Dick’s is a Seattle specialty and I came for the first time today.

It’s a very unique fast food spot. The whole restaurant just has a ring of window seats, leaving the spacious middle area empty.

The menu is very short and simple. The ordering process felt a bit chaotic—each counter has its own separate line instead of one queue, and you can only order once the person in front of you has received everything they ordered.

That said, the food comes out quickly. But when I picked it up, the Dick’s special burger felt so light in my hand. By the time I stepped outside and opened it, it was already cold. You could barely even see the patty inside—I had to open it up to confirm.

For a Dick’s location, the food was spot on!
This wasn’t my favorite location though. It was nice there was parking, but there are lots of people moving throughout the parking lot so you have to be a little careful.
The bathroom was a little bit of a disaster but grateful there was one.
The room was just this big space. It was nice there was seating around the outside facing the windows, but the middle was like a big dance floor? Not sure what they do there.
Staff was amazingly nice and super quick!

I was the first person to get there by accident, and was several minutes ahead of time. However, this gave me plenty of time to decide what I wanted. The menu is limited, but don’t underestimate it. What they do is pure quality, and what they have is amazing! Everything is handcrafted and hand scooped. Fresh ingredients, kind and courteous staff, and a retro (which is all original!) look and vibes that really makes the place an experience. As soon as I got my order, I turned around to see four more people forming a line behind me, and that was only 3 minutes after opening! By the time I’d consumed my absolutely delicious burger, fries, and shake, there was a line wrapping around the corner and into the parking lot! The burger and fries were unlike anything I’d tasted anywhere else. The meat was tender and juicy, and like the fries, fried in sunflower oil. This changed the way I cook my own! The fries were hot and extra crispy, which is perfect for me! The chocolate milkshake (there are several flavors to choose from) was also perfectly thick and made of real dairy. One of the best parts of the experience was seeing strangers talk and laugh with each other while they waited their turn. I hung around people watch for about 20 minutes, and I was amazed at how fast the line moved. I can’t recommend this place enough!

We came here for dinner and it was probably the cheapest meal that we had in Seattle. I ordered a plain cheeseburger with fries. My partner got the deluxe with fries. We also ordered a root beer float to share. I do appreciate that they charge a little less for the plain versions of their burgers. The prices were incredibly reasonable for the area, and the food tasted really good! It is very greasy, which is what I was expecting. The inside area is interesting- there is seating around the perimeter of the room but the inside looked like it was standing room only. The walls had some iconic Seattle landmarks, like the stadiums, the Space Needle, and the monorail. The service was very quick! I definitely would come back here.

Food was comparable to McDonalds, shakes were ok, atmosphere was weird with a big building and seating only around the windows. And you have to pay for ketchup, what’s with that? Felt rushed with ordering. Not impressed.

A Seattle favorite. Great Burgers and Fries. I’ve been coming here for years. Also great Milkshakes. This Queen Anne location is the only one that I am aware of where you can eat indoors. They have lots of countertop seating. They used to have many tables but I think the reason they got rid of them is because this location is always packed when there’s an event going on at the nearby Seattle Center.

My sandwich was dry, like it had been sitting for a while. Place kinda reminded me of an old club. Lol They had security on duty, that was nice to see. Considering the neighborhood.
