We visited Honey Rock Books and Cafe today for lunch and had a great experience! The owners are so friendly and welcoming. Honey Rock Books and Cafe is such a cute, quaint coffee shop with a wonderful variety of both new and pre-loved books. A true Gallatin gem! The food menu has lots of options to choose from. We ordered the lentil soup, the Cuban sandwich, and the Media Noche cuban sandwich. Everything tasted great and was so flavorful! There were lots of seating options, and I love that there is space upstairs to play board games. Our order was cooked to perfection and came out in a timely manner. I highly recommend Honey Rock Books and Cafe. Can’t wait to visit again soon!

This place really is a hidden gem. I had been once when they opened and with my busy schedule it dropped from my radar until today. I was out working on some training with my dog and was looking for a place to pop in for some lunch with him. Website didn’t say anything about dogs so I called to check. Yes, they are dog friendly! The owner is lovely and was so kind to my dog. Even offered to lower the music for him when he noticed my boy was a bit overwhelmed from noises on the street. I got the matcha, a cuban sandwich, and a guava pastelito. Everything was wonderful. They were impressed that I knew pastelito when it’s not listed as the name on the menu and that made my pastry chef heart just so happy. Definitely worth stopping in, if not for anything else than a chat with the owners. Great people there.

I go to Honey Rock almost every Thursday for the Connect Nashville networking event! Every time I’m here, the service is amazing and the food & beverages are out of this world and super fresh!! I look forward to driving to Gallatin (from Nashville) every Thursday morning knowing I’m going to have a great experience at Honey Rock. Don’t forget to check out their great upstairs space if you need somewhere quiet to work from!

Gallatin’s newest bookstore and cafe has just opened in September 2025 on North Water Avenue. The book selection is growing each day. The cafe offers coffees, teas, pastries, and sandwiches. We ordered a cappuccino. We found a Taylor Jenkins Reid book and a children’s book illustrated by Robin Preiss Glasser to add to my collections. The upstairs offers study tables, a restroom, and space for the book offerings to expand. The owners James and Stella greeted us warmly. Other employees were friendly and helpful.

Super cute bookstore cafe. They serve authentic Cuban coffee and the guava pastries were excellent as well. Wide selection of books at a fair price, including a “pre-loved” section. Highly recommend this spot.

What a great, welcoming place! I loved the yummy soup and pastry, as well as enjoying a cup of coffee while browsing old and new books. There is meeting space on the top floor that would be a fun and interesting place to have a work event. There is also a second floor with more books that I didn’t explore, but appears it would be fun for kids. Will definitely come again and bring a friend!

Drove from Nashville for a book signing and also to experience their Cuban sandwich that has gained a reputation within months of opening. The sandwich (and coffee) were phenomenal and authentic, and the vibe of this book shop is cozy and welcoming! I’m scheming how soon I can return to try more menu items. Gallatin is fortunate to have a place like this downtown!

I visited this adorable little cafe on the square for a Christmas book club meeting and absolutely fell in love with it! The coffee was wonderful, I had the perfect sugar free iced latte that went perfectly with the delicious homemade flan! The cafe being in the historic square absolutely adds to the charm and the ambiance is very relaxed, and not at all stuffy, like some book stores can be. The Hispanic influences are so appreciated and loved! I cannot wait to visit for future book club meetings and to just have some free mom time!

…being from Tampa & knowing a thing or two about all things Cuban to include Food, Coffee & Cigars, I can honestly say that Honey Rock is a Blessing in Disguise. The Cuba Bread is shipped in from La Segunda Bakery in Tampa, Café con Leche is On Point while the Guava & Cheese turnovers are Perfect!
The Staff & Service are both kind & attentive, you feel welcomed at all times.
To find all of this in the small town of Gallatin, TN is a blessing for sure!
