This was our first time trying Cantina since we enjoy Mexican food, and overall the experience was mixed. We were seated right away, and the service was fine. The food itself was fresh, good quality, and well-prepared — definitely the highlight of the visit.
I had the veggie taco salad, my daughter the steak tacos, and my husband a burrito (this was very small).
That said, it took quite a while for our meals to arrive, and the portion sizes felt small for the price. The restaurant layout is also a bit odd — it almost feels like they just moved in and haven’t quite settled the space yet, with an awkward flow and a lot of empty areas. As others have mentioned, there is a distinct smell in the restaurant that seems to indicate the grease traps might need cleaning.
There’s potential here, but a few tweaks would really improve the overall dining experience.

The order was manually taken and memorized. This resulted in correct order but incorrect customizations. Needs improvement here. Food taste was good, but service was a bit haste and can be better. The order replacement was offered but couldn’t wait for another 20 mins at the dinner time.

It’s hard to find good authentic Mexican food in Tampa. The flavors were incredible, better than the competitors in the area. Guacamole, both entrees, and Micheladas…all done really well.

The tacos were the best thing order hands down. I especially loved the Taco Pastor. We aren’t huge cheese people so the quesadilla was a bit much. The chalupa was great. It was big and messy with awesome toppings. For $23 this was an absolutely amazing order. Will definitely be back for the tacos.

Pretty decent Tex-Mex food compared to others in the area. The salsa and chips was very tasty and my boyfriend enjoyed his taco plate with rice and beans. My only complaint is that my quesadilla fajita was falling apart; the flavors was good but it was stuffed so much that it was hard to eat it. Overall, pretty good fillingTex-Mex food!

The food is really great. The prices however, are not so great.
We got the cantina sampler appetizer and the steak with 2 sides. I ordered a side of rice and beans and was charged almost SEVEN dollars. The portion of rice and beans for this price, is ludicrous.
With that said, the food is authentic and delicious. I just feel it’s overpriced.

He was amazing better than I expected. The margaritas are so good and just be careful cause it taste like juice so you’re not gonna realize how much alcohol is in there. The servers are amazing and will work with you. Overall an amazing experience.

Nice neighborhood restaurant. They have a bar with 8-10 beers on draft. That is remarkable. Food is ok. Fajitas were good. Burrito is a monster. They also have a vegetarian section on the menu. Interior design is a bit sterile but they try hard to make it cozy with wall decoration. Entrance might be hard to find. It is dimly lit.

Here by recommendation while purchasing a phone. As soon as i walked in it smelled incredible ! Ordered the chicken with rice & some delicious tacos. Excellent service & delicious food.
