The full order of the scallion pancakes actually include 2x much as the photo and came as the second batch. Large portion.

It’s close to Taiwanese style. Free vegetable soup is similar to some Taiwanese self-helping restaurants. Parking has to be across the street. Food came fast and it’s a cozy little cafe.

Took about 15 minutes to order and get our food, and another 15 minutes to eat. They give you a table number and have a whole setup to the right of the ordering counter with condiments, utensils, soup, water, etc. They offer complimentary vegetable soup if you order food and dine in. The soup was actually pretty good–great for sipping on between bites of fatty or fried food.

Chicken Nuggets ($8.95): Crispy, Taiwanese-style fried chicken nuggets seasoned with salt, pepper, and fresh Thai basil, served with sweet chili sauce. Tasted pretty authentic, but the portion size was on the smaller side. The nuggets were a good size with a perfectly crispy coating and juicy chicken inside. They also gave a generous amount of fried Thai basil, which paired perfectly with the chicken.

Bacon Pork with Rice ($15.95): Braised pork belly served with white rice, boiled eggs, steamed carrots and broccoli, and pickled veggies. Good portion overall. It was a cohesive dish, but just okay–we’ve had better braised pork belly elsewhere.

Coco, a cozy joint, has become a regular spot for me. The staff is always friendly and welcoming. Surprisingly, it’s never as crowded as I’d expect, considering its proximity to UT’s campus. It’s a great place to warm up with a bowl of soup. I’ve tried various items on their menu, and each one has been a delightful surprise. And of course, no meal is complete without a refreshing boba!

Give Coco a try!

I got the pepper steak and rice. It was the perfect warm meal for a rare chilly afternoon. The meat was tender and the sauce was so savory. I got my boba half sweet and that was perfect!

My friend got the pork belly with rice. The pork was so juicy and the greens had a nice acidity. The eggs were a little overdone and confused the texture.

The space is a little small but we had found a seat at the shared high table with no problem. I’ll definitely be back!

So many memories are created here. Love coming back here when in Austin.

Friendly and fast service. Great drink selections, and they are all very delicious (not too icy and watery). My favorite is Peppercorn Chicken with Rice. It’s very crispy but not too oily, perfect with pickled vegetables. Yum!

Taiwanese Plant-Based Options?!? YES PLEASE!

Although ATX has many MANY options out there, too many too count, too many to choose from.

CoCos is 100% a go-to place, we’ve enjoyed their food numerous times and are always left wanting more! =]

We get (each time)
-Peppercorn Tofu (so freaking good!!)
-Tofu Veggie Lo Mein (request no egg to be safe)
-Veggie Steamed Dumplings (some of the best dumplings we’ve ever had, the sauce is AMAZING)

Man.. these dishes are ridiculously good!

COVID Notes
-We used UberEats, sent straight to our hotel door (on the 9th floor, pretty impressive)
-The order was straightforward, quick, convenient & accurate
-No issues at all.

Thank you, Coco’s Cafe, for having fantastic Vegan Options!

Decent boba teas and drink options at this dine in on the drag. Drinks seemed kind of expensive but were decent in terms of taste. Wasn’t very busy in the late evening hours and service was prompt. They need to prominently share their ordering process so that a new patron isn’t confused and rushed while ordering. Overall a decent stop for refreshments.

I was looking for the chicken phô next door but it is closed until 26June. Aaaaaaaaa. Coco’s has Taiwanese food and this was my first time eating it. I had a fried chicken noodle soup. Full of veggies and had a fab garlic onion flavor. Even if it feels like 103° in Austin I love hot soup any day. I prefer grilled or non fried chicken but this soup and Coco’s is popular with university crowd. The jasmine tea was quenching. Service is great. Be sure to bus your table and empty your trash near the back. Coco’s is is an easy walk from Lavaca to corner of MLKing and Guadalupe. It is across the street from Cane’s Chicken.

Very expensive and extremely sweet! I bought a Thai tea and it was over $6. The boba was either over cooked or had been sitting in the mixture for an extremely long time because it was all mushy. Also, the employees were rude for no apparent reason. I stood at the counter for like 2 minutes before I was acknowledged even though they saw me walk in. Next time I’ll be sure to go to Kung Fu Tea because it’s better and cheaper.
