Very ordinary place. The service left a lot to be desired. They never came back to check on us. Water was never filled again though the cups were thick steel ones. So cool and nice.

The Greek omelette was boring. The hash browns with it were mostly burnt and between cold and lukewarm.

I asked for salsa or pico de Gallo and the lady said that she will bring some more tomato-ey one with less spice but never did bring any. Bagel was forgetful and buttered.

Restroom could be cleaner and better maintained too.

Perhaps a 2.5 star place for me.

Relaxing, pleasant lighting, wasn’t crowded and noisy (I no longer enjoy yelling while eating). Los Altos Scramble was perfect, not heavy if you avoid the hash browns.

Excellent place to eat. Our group met here for lunch before our weekend retreat and had such a delicious lunch. The service was top top best! The variety of food was fantastic and the atmosphere was relaxing! This is a fave on my list.

Breakfast is awesome here. The menu was filled with so many choices, it was difficult to decide. My guests ordered omelettes, skillets, and pancakes. The breakfast items were fantastic. The blueberry pancakes were the fluffiest pancakes I had ever seen. It was a large stack of three pancakes with a side of blueberry sauce. The omelettes and skillets are awesome. The side of bacon came with four slices of bacon but the taste was a little flat.
I ordered the “philly steak” with french fries and salad. Unfortunately, their version of the philly cheesesteak probably needs some help. The salad was a little disappointing, but the vinaigrette was delicious. The fries were good. I ordered a guava mimosa. It was a little on the sweet side for me, but overall not bad.
The service was quick and attentive. Overall, I would come back for breakfast again.

Great place to grab a quick brunch in downtown Los Altos. The restaurant has a giant coffee roaster near the entrance and is very spacious. Has extensive list of menus and staff was helpful in recommending his favorite, which turned out to be a grand slam delicious dish!

One of the best brunch place in bay area. French toast was so soft with right amount of sweetness, not too overpowering. White bread toasted yo perfection. Hashbrown were quite unique with parsley. Scrambled eggs were so soft. Got the basics tight very well.

A low key local brunch cafe with an extensive menu. Lox and bagel sounds simple but every ingredient is fresh and even capers taste better. The apple pie cheese kleenz is interesting and well balanced.

Rick’s has been in Los Altos for many years. I was actually surprised why I haven’t tried them earlier. From the outside Rick’s look like a hole in a wall. But when I go inside, I was surprised how spacious it is. Very high ceiling and the hall runs to the other end of the building.

About the food. Rick’s menu is very heavy on breakfast and brunch items. They also have sandwiches and burger. We went there just before they are closed so we ordered a breakfast and a club sandwich. The portions are big. I can’t really finish my sandwich. The food came quick and the fries were hot. I also tried their coffee. It turns out that they roast their own coffee. I ordered a cup and they served me a thermos. The coffee was a dark roasted and it was really good.

The server was attentive but not over-bearing. When I look for a Tabasco she appears right away and ask if I need anything – really good services in my book.

Rick’s will definitely be my regular spot.

Good for group, good for children. Lively and convenient. Large portions. About $15-20 per person.

We ended up here for lunch since the place across the street had a 15 minute wait. It has a spacious clean setup with real furniture. Service was prompt, even after our order taker left at his shift change. The menu is mainly breakfast all day with some sandwiches and burgers.

Wifey had the Hungry Rick with special ordered Blueberry pancakes and I had the Country Fried Steak special. Both were okay with good size portions. The signature item is that they feature toasted bagels instead of bread with their offerings.

Value was okay but there are other similar DTLA places I prefer, so probably no repeat.
