What truly sets them apart, however, are the generous portions. You’re not just getting a taste; you’re getting a feast. It’s a testament to their commitment to providing exceptional value without ever compromising on quality.
Let’s talk about the stars of the show: the King Lobster Roll and the Toro’ko Special Roll. The King Lobster Roll is an absolute masterpiece. The combination of succulent, tender lobster with perfectly balanced flavors is nothing short of heavenly. It’s a decadent, unforgettable roll that I find myself dreaming about. And then there’s the Toro’ko Special Roll—it’s the perfect representation of the restaurant’s creativity and skill. Each bite is a symphony of textures and tastes, a truly unique and thrilling experience that showcases the freshest ingredients and incredible artistry.
If you’re in the Fair Oaks area and looking for the best sushi of your life, look no further. Toro’ko Sushi is more than a restaurant; it’s a Fair Oaks institution.
2026 update: The Flama Roll is my new favorite. The Valentine’s Day special Romeo and Juliet Roll is a close second. Be sure to ask for Nicole as your server. She treats you like family and always has great recommendations. She gets me hooked on a new roll with each visit, because the chefs keep creating new masterpieces!
The nigiri is expertly crafted, featuring the perfect balance of sauce and condiments to enhance the flavors. Additionally, the variety of rolls on the menu is truly impressive. While we have our personal favorites, we always enjoy exploring new options. On our most recent visit, we sampled the Sonterra roll, which has now firmly established itself on our list of favorites.
Toro’K Sushi also boasts an excellent beverage selection, including wine, beer, and sake, ensuring that diners find the perfect pairing for their meal. For those who may not be sushi enthusiasts, the restaurant offers outstanding Teppanyaki bowls featuring a choice of vegetables and meats, as well as delicious curry and teriyaki options.
What sets Toro’Ko Sushi apart is its family-owned and operated nature. The team goes above and beyond to create a warm and inviting atmosphere, making each visit a truly special experience. Overall, Toro’K Sushi is a must-visit for both sushi lovers and newcomers alike.
The sushi was outstanding—each roll was crafted with fresh, high-quality ingredients and presented beautifully. We tried a variety of rolls and every single one was packed with flavor and perfectly balanced. The fish was melt-in-your-mouth fresh, and the creative combinations really set Toro’ko apart from other sushi spots in the area.
Service was impressively quick without ever feeling rushed. Our drinks and dishes arrived promptly, and the staff checked in just the right amount to make sure we had everything we needed.
Overall, Toro’ko is a must-visit for sushi lovers. Great food, exceptional service, and a
The atmosphere here is excellent. It’s a modern look and has a functional sushi bar where patrons can sit. Super clean and well put together.
My pre-teen daughter and I came in to check this place out after I saw it on Facebook. We had fatty yellowtail sashimi, a spicy scallop hand roll, a crunchy roll, and the Toro’ko Special roll. This is REALLY good sushi. The sashimi itself was quite impressive.
4 stars because of service. Hopefully this is just growing pains.
We arrived at 8:09 and sat ourselves – no “welcome, seat yourself”, we just stood around for a moment and then grabbed a table. There were 2 servers and 2 sushi chefs. It took more than 10 minutes for the server to take our drink order and we finally got our cans of Dr. Pepper (with glasses of ice) at 8:29 – exactly 20 minutes after we arrived. BTW 20 minutes is too long to wait for drinks. Ordered our food at 8:24, just before receiving our drinks.
There were 7 tables sat, one of which was us, and 2 people at the sushi bar. 2 tables hadn’t received their food yet. We received our food at 8:53, 29 minutes after we ordered, 44 minutes after we walked in. All things considered, this wasn’t horrible timing but it isn’t ideal when there are only 2 other tables that were waiting on food and 2 sushi chefs in action. If this place has every table full, I anticipate that many customers will suffer long wait times. Hopefully they plan to enlist more chefs.
Our server wasn’t pleasant at all. She wasn’t rude or a problem, she just didn’t appear to be happy about being there and had RBF. She seemed to be irritated or in a foul mood. She expressed very little interest in serving us and barely acknowledged our presence; and the time it took to get our drinks to us is testament to how the rest of the service was. My guess is that she’s either new to being a sever, or just doesn’t really like her job. Either way, she left a lot to be desired. Customers would be best served by someone smiling, cheerful and happy to see customers at their tables.
I had to request chopsticks after we got our food as there were no eating utensils or napkins on the table. Additionally, they were out of sweet shrimp. Might be a good idea to have an 86 board in the dining room so that customers know what you do and don’t have that’s offered on the menu.
Overall, this place is a good solid sushi joint and is a breath of fresh air for Boerne. We needed a place like this and got one. We will be back for sure.
But of course the reason we came, was for the sushi….. to die for! The chefs’ choices were spot on. The Baby Roll ( off the menu) full of flavor and also the Uni shooters were just amazing. The Ahi tacos and Tako Roll were incredible.
All around great experience, with top notch sushi. Looking forward to going back with family and friends.
