Oh also the chipotle sauce goes so well with the food here. It’s way better than similar ones I’ve had like it. Can’t wait to come back again.
Service was great. I definitely recommend Phillyboyz.
Definitely coming back for more! Thank you guys!!
Sorry I didn’t take a better pic… I was hungry and I don’t leave a lot of reviews, but the wings compelled me to leave one haha
I went with a friend last night. Funny enough, he offered for me to join him at a different cheesesteak spot in Burbank, which I’m actually not a fan of, so I declined and opted, instead, to hit the Boyz in the evening, and I’m so glad I did!
I actually passed it at first, as it’s quite unassuming, but it was easy to see coming back. It’s just tables and canopies set up in a rectangle, with the cooking equipment, cooks, and supplies set in the middle.
Off to the side, there’s a few tables for people to sit, and coolers with cans of soda. Being that it’s located in the parking lot of a car wash, we weren’t expecting much. It’s a typical LA food cart/truck/stand kind of experience. Nothing special at all about the decor, but it’s not necessary, because the good part is coming…
So, we ordered our food. We wanted to try a few things. I got the classic cheeseteak but left out the mushrooms. My friend ordered the same but left out the mayo. We added fries and 6 wings to the order, got our and waited.
There was only one couple there waiting for food, so it didn’t take long, at all before or number got called out. Glad we came when we did, because, as soon as we got our food, a bunch of people showed up. We brought our food to the table and immediately took a fork and dug into the sandwich a bit. Immediately, we knew we’d made the right choice.
We opened up the fries. Fantastic. Crispy on the outside, soft on the inside. Personally, I think they’d be AMAZING if there was some sort of seasoning, perhaps like a Lawry’s seasoning salt, but that’s just me being picky.
The wings. I’ll be honest, I was less than impressed. You get 6 wings for $7.99 You can get more, but with the sandwich and fries, we didnt know what to expect, and didnt want to overdo it. We optes fpr the hot wings. While they were cooked perfectly and tasted good, they were tiny, and they weren’t hot. I dont know why they even offer mild. They gave flats only, not an issue, but I’ve had 25 cent wings that were bigger. Tiny wings, and in my opinion definitely not worth the price. I wouldn’t get them again unless they got bigger wings. Still, they tasted great.
The sandwich, well, that’s the star of the show! The bread is soft, yet firm enough to hold everything in. It held up to the last bite. The meat, tender as all get out. The onions and peppers, great. My friend thought the peppers could have been cooked longer, but that’s just a personal preference. The homemade Whiz, just awesome. Creamy, cheese flavor, just awesome.
We gobbled it all up and left VERY happy. I would recommend this place any day of the week. They’re open 7pm-1am (I believe), and it’s worth the trip. I wish I still lived in LA, as I would easily make this spot a regular stop on my food list.
A+
Just had the BEST Philly steak of my LIFE at Philly Boys. No joke, hands down. Perfectly juicy, seasoned right , whizz cheese and the bread is everything.
But listen up, Habibi’s—you CANNOT leave without trying there Halal Wings! Crispy, saucy, and packed with flavor. An absolute must-order.
So grateful for amazing Halal spots like this. Flawless food, great portions. My new go-to!
Philly Boys, you’re the real deal.
So, I think I understand why people were saying not enough meat… It’s because the bun is about 14 inches long … What’s inside is a very good portion of ribeye.
I ordered the Spicy Philly Cheese Steak and the Loaded Philly Steak fries.
The quantity of meat for both the sandwich and the fries were the same.
I liked the sandwhich better, I ordered it with provolone and house made cheese sauce with the house made sauce as well. The combination kicks butt, not in an overly spicy way, just super flavorful.
The fries were good , but I think they would have been better as just cheese fries since I had the sandwich.
I noticed they had a dubai chocolate strawberry cup. I usually stay away because most pistachio sauces on those have dye to make them green. The manager said it was dye free and imported from Italy for the pistachio creme. The chocolate is Belgium chocolate.
Verdict? Delicious!
Everything was extremely good, and I deem this my new favorite Philly Cheese Steak spot.
Don’t let the location fool you. This is one of the best Phillys I’ve had.
I highly recommend
