Sweet Caroline’s deserves 4.5 stars. The bathroom could definitely be nicer, but the food is some of the best you can find in Ames. They have amazing gluten-free options with a huge menu, and everything tasted incredible. The early 2000s pop music gave me flashbacks to Big Time Rush and One Direction, which I honestly loved.

Sweet Caroline’s in downtown Ames has a great vibe and friendly service. Food was a bit off today, everything felt over-fried but overall still a solid spot. Would definitely come back and try again.

Service was great, our waitress was on top of drinks and checked on us frequently. I ordered boneless Caribbean Jerk wings. They arrived as the smallest burnt, dry croutons I’ve ever seen. 90% crust. I’m not sure if they were supposed to be sauced or dry, the menu was worn out and almost unreadable. Even the veggies were old and dry. Mac-n-cheese side was mid. The kids chicken tenders look great. Meaty, juicy and well cooked. For half the price. Thanks to my son for sharing.

The only highlight was the Apple Pie Mule. A+

Wanted this place to be good. We’re tried it 4 or 5 times now. It has been a disappointment each time. Sometimes it’s the service, sometimes it’s the food. Just never good all on the same day. This was our final visit.

First time here and out of 5 of us eating 2 things were bad enough to not eat. Hush puppies were burnt and the pasta was so under done it was inedible. The service was top notch and they comped the bad food. We will give it a second try.

Stopped in for a quick bite while traveling through. We were pleasantly surprised by the unique fun atmosphere. We ordered the bacon, blue cheeseburger, mac & cheese, and the brussels sprouts. The Food was excellent. The burgers are served well done, and all the sauces are homemade. Our server, Kylie was friendly and knowledgeable. The patio looks Very inviting and fun.

We went in for lunch on a Thursday. There were a couple large parties but still plenty of seating. We sat in the booth style seating near the kitchen. It was a bit quieter back there. Chloe, our server, was very attentive and cheerful. She answered our menu questions and attended to us very promptly. Watching the servers zip through the dining room and greet customers with big smiles was a pleasure. Our food was delicious and came out incredibly fast- Alabama French Onion burger and a Shrimp Po-boy with fries. The burger was so juicy it dropped down my chin after the first bite! The Po-boy had quality ingredients and was loaded with shrimp. We are both huge fans of beer battered fries and they did not disappoint. While we were eating, we were discussing what we’ll order next time we go!

Very kind staff and absolutely delicious food. I had the meatloaf with the brussel sprouts and potato salad as sides and each was perfect. Very cool decor and atmosphere, just not the most family friendly. Still an overall great place to eat and hang out.

We had a great waiter, and he was very attentive. The food was great. I had some of the best catfish that I’ve had in a while. Too many others used too much spice and covered up the taste of the fish.

Just wanted to let you and your staff know that we had a great experience when we rented the upstairs event area for my son’s college graduation party. Our waitress was amazing and the food was hot and ready when we arrived. Everyone said it was a great place to have a graduation party. Thanks again for making my son’s graduation party a great success. We will use you again in the future and recommend you to others.

Excellent service and food. Our waitress and waiter were friendly and professional. Service can’t be be beat. We had drinks and dinner. Large chicken dinner wit corn and green beans. Mmmmwah!! Best chicken ever! Not only tasty but huge pieces. Dark meat was moist and piping hot. Veggies both very good. Seasoned green beans were extra good. Where do you get your chicken? The biggest pieces I’ve ever seen!! We also ordered one of the burgers. Super good! Side salad was delicious as well. Wish we had room for dessert because they all sounded good but too full this time. Maybe next time.
Overall…wonderful experience and dining. We’ve been boasting about it to all of our friends. We’re making this our “go-to” place from now on. Thank you so much!!
