What a wonderful dining experience! We came here because they were just about the only Ramen place in town and boy were we excited at the quality! We sat near the back in the special dining area for the full experience. This definitely topped the experience off as a memorable one. We had crab rangoons (amazing), ramen each (tonkatsu for the win!), and the Bud roll (the eel sauce and avocado made the roll). Our service was too notch and everything tasted delectable.
We will be using this restaurant as our new go-to double date location!
The only qualm I had was that their floor was incredibly sticky. Mop it and it’ll be fine.

I have been going to Yamato for years and years, and I am going to keep going for years to come! Just went and ate there this past weekend (even open on Sunday night, folks) and I just can’t believe how consistently delicious and wonderful the food is. I’ve tried a good selection of everything on the menu. You can’t go wrong with anything you choose. I usually eat at the sushi bar but I sometimes eat in the dining room and I haven’t tried the hibachi yet. The sushi is without any doubt the best in the tri-city area!! Fresh, creative, big rolls that outclass any competition. The service is doting and quick, the atmosphere is peaceful. I have never once been disappointed in the roughly ten years that I have been going and I have to drive 40 min. to eat here. TRY THEM! LOVE THEM!!!

Worst service ever tonight. My son in law, who has a seafood allergy, was served sweet and sour shrimp twice instead of the chicken he ordered.
My daughter was brought the wrong sushi, waitress realized it, came back and got it (thinking it was re-served to the correct table) then still brought the wrong kind on her return.
We watched the table beside us order, eat and get their check before we even ordered.
So disappointed as this is the only Japanese place near my home, and I’ve always loved it.
As a waitress myself, I believe you should retire if you’re no longer efficient. Unfortunately this was the case for our waitress.
Try not to kill any patrons in the future! Had my son in law not realized it immediately, both times, this could have been disastrous.

We truly enjoyed our Hibachi meal at Yamato! Our chef Jeb did one of the best performances we have ever seen! He was very friendly and entertaining! The food was well seasoned and our steak was cooked medium per our request. Our son was entertained and loved his food as well! Our waitress was well attentive and friendly. = )

The service was poor, I was greeted at the door by someone with a mouthful of food. I was then seated at a dirty table. I let it go and gave it a chance, the waiters service was poor, the quality of food isn’t great and half the menu they’re out of. I ordered the waiter would leave to put the order in, then return to tell me they are out. I put the next order in same thing, then finally I guess the right item and instead of two pieces of sashimi I get one. They ran out and only could make one. Instead of telling me to see if it was cool they just went with it. I do not reccomend this restaurant. Nom sushi downtown is about equal in price and the service and quality of food is by far much better.

If you just want a quick answer, The food was Great.
Work in the area a couple miles away, heard good things about the restaurant from a friend of mine, saying how good it was. Well, He certainly wasn’t wrong. Walked in, got some carry-out, the food was still steaming hot when we had gotten back.
The waterfall was a nice touch with a Koi pond as soon as you walk in. Nice and eye-catching. It’s certainly the best Asian cuisine I’ve had In Pensacola. I can’t recommend it enough, if you enjoy this particular food, Yamato’s is as good as it’s going to get without taking a plane to Japan.
The hibachi grill was exciting and fun to watch, Friend and i watched the guy work as we waited for our food. Excellent performance, dinner a show, what more could you ask for.

The worst Japanese Steakhouse ever
our drinks or empty more than they were full. The Bushwackers were in a double shot glass. they gave us paper towel as napkins like we were at a picnic. the food was good the cook was nice. the waitress was horrible. we saw our drinks sitting on the bar for at least 10 minutes before they were served to us you. We will never be coming back!!! now I know why the parking lot is so empty!!

Food was good. Salad was fresh but dressing or whatever that was, was not good. Had the all you can eat. Only problem is, you must only order two at a time in which case each item is like 12 rolls. .. I like variety. If I wanted that many of one thing, I would order. Otherwise all you can eat should mean i can try other rolls out. But I don’t want them in sets of 12… how about 3 or 6 piece sets. So we can try out variety. When asked, they said no. Anyhow, I can just go somewhere else in that case… good customer service though.

The best sushi I have in Pensacola. The next time I go, I will try the hibachi because it smelled amazing while we were there, and the decor in the restaurant made you feel like you were transported to Japan. The Ronna roll was fantastic.

So granted, I know when you order delivery there is some give and take in what to expect from the delivered product. That said, we have had numerous meals through CitySpree that were really good. This is because most places realize that when you order delivery, if you like it enough, you may come in to eat (at the very least you will order again).
This meal, however, was prepared with all the love and care you would give for your worst enemy. We ordered the seafood teriyaki platter, which came with 4 of the most over-cooked shrimp I have ever ate, 3 scallops, and two pieces of over-done white fish. Two “vegetable” skewers were included, however both were so well done to be practically mash on a stick. Both our gyoza and egg-role appetizers were burned to the point of being inedible, yet surprisingly the vegetable tempura (two onion rings, one broccoli floret, a strip of zucchini, and a cluster of what I assumed was shredded carrot) was actually UNDER cooked. Even the fried rice was off, being so tasteless it could have really been anything.
The ONLY decent item in the lot was the soup and it’s not worth dealing with all the terrible to get it.
Chewing lots of strong gum to get the taste of this meal out of our mouths.
