Appetizer: Gobi 555 & banana bajji
Mains : rameswaram dosa, butter ullu Karam dosa
Drink : filter coffee.
Review about food :
The menu had lots of Rava Dosa options but unfortunately we e were told Rava Dosa not available..
the banana bajji was hot and crispy we enjoyed very much the Gobi 555 on the other hand had the dominant taste of curd couldn’t taste the Gobi or 555 masala anywhere had only curd taste..
Rameswaram dosa was a set of 2 dosas with podi and ghee ( overloaded) tased Amazing
Ulli Karam dosa was decent
All 3 chutneys and sambar tasted good and fresh not cold like other restaurants which is appreciable..
Filter coffee didn’t taste like freshly made it was hot but taste was not like filter coffee..
Overall experience was good and I would recommend bajji and rameswaram dosa.
Service: good and friendly.
The menu features dishes with all kinds of idli and dosa batter and their combinations, among other dishes. We tried 2 types of dosa, idli and medhuvada, and it was authentic. We were too early for thali meals and will order next time.
There’s devotional chanting music paying in the background. It was soothing for us but it may not be for everyone.
Give this new-ish restaurant a try, folks!
Upma Pesarattu tasted great. We definitely recommend everyone to try their thali and breakfast items
I had an absolutely delightful dining experience at Sree Shankara Vilas Pure Vegetarian Indian Restaurant on Coit Rd in Plano. This gem brings the true flavors of South India to the DFW area in a way that’s hard to find elsewhere.
It’s incredibly refreshing to see traditional items like Thatte Idly and a wide variety of Mysuru Doses featured on the menu — both of which were executed to perfection. The Thatte Idly was soft, fluffy, and served piping hot, just like you’d find in Karnataka. The Mysuru Doses were bursting with authentic flavors, crispy on the outside and generously spread with chutney and masala — a nostalgic treat for anyone who’s tasted them back in India.
The ambiance is clean, welcoming, and family-friendly, and the staff is courteous and attentive. You can tell that quality and authenticity are top priorities here.
This place is a must-visit for anyone craving true South Indian vegetarian cuisine. Whether you’re familiar with these dishes or trying them for the first time, Sree Shankara Vilas offers a genuine taste of the South that’s both comforting and unforgettable.
Highly recommended!
We had Sambar Idly, Ghee Karam Idly, Onion Masala Dosa and Sambar Vada!
Every thing is fresh, tasty , with reasonable price , nice ambience and friendly staff.
Tea is excellent bit close to Secunderabad Blue Sea.
This place is better than other Big Veg Restaurants around
