THE BEST and MOST AUTHENTIC Japanese restaurant in Utah. Fresh, real sushi (rolls are not real sushi… but they have those as well). The white tuna sashimi and sushi are amazing. I don’t know what they do with their rice, but they’re doing it right, whatever it is. The bento box at lunch is a really good price for what you get. Chicken katsu and the teriyaki chicken are perfect and they are one of the only places I’ve been outside of Japan that know how to do tempura properly. The Yaki Soba (see photo) is probably my favorite after the sushi. I could rave about this place all day. If you’re looking for an authentic Japanese experience, eat here.

Stopped in out of curiosity, what a pleasant surprize. Terriaki chicken was good, sushi was delicious. Great service. They even have wine! I will come again.

The food tasted very good and the presentation was fantastic. I thought the chef was very creative. The nuance of the restaurant was very nice too. I would definitely go back.

Absolutely amazing! I used to drive so far for good sushi and now it’s right down the street. I’ve been here twice and will continue going. Staff is very friendly and nice, the decor is on point. The rolls are amazing! I was originally taken back by the price but once I saw how much I got I understood. The percentage is beautiful and they’re so delicious. My son got the chicken teriyaki, presentation again beautiful and it was so delicious, I ended up eating a decent amount because it was so good!

My wife and I came in for dinner service. The decor was adequate, had a good Japanese vibe.
We both ordered the dinner boxes, there was a lot of food on those plates. I think next time we would probably share one or just get individual rolls. The miso soup had tofu which I’m not a fan of but I think it’s fairly authentic that way.
Other wise a great experience, the hostess took time to explain a few things to us as were somewhat new to sushi, which was nice.

This is a great sushi restaurant. We tried the spicy girl roll and the sweet and spicy roll. Both so good and the fish was so fresh. I also really like the authentic Japanese decor. Really a beautiful space. Great service and clean. Clean, clean, clean. When I am in the mood for sushi, this is the pace I will go. For sure.

My favorite sushi restaurant here in salt lake. Hands down the best value when you factor in quality as well as price. Surprisingly my favorite roll is one of their basic rolls, the spicy tuna roll. Most everything they have is delicious, the service is good to great depending on how busy they are, and most importantly the quality is always consistent. For anyone that does go, ask for fresh wasabi. Makes a huge difference!

Very open and quiet which makes conversations carry so everyone knows the gossip your friend is droning on about. It’s just plain eerie. I prefer a cozy atmosphere where conversations aren’t heard in the kitchen.
The food is good, you can’t argue that but the higher than expected price make this a one-visit restaurant.

I’ll let you know, when this place first opened up, my wife and I were super excited to have a sushi place right by our house without having to drive down to South Jordan or downtown. Our first visit we were treated fine, and we received a wide variety of foods. The only issue was we only got one sushi roll(which is the whole reason we were there to begin with) and it wasn’t that great. I forced my wife to try Mizu out a second time to REALLY see what just their sushi is like. They’re in West Valley, I live here, I wanted to do my best to support my neighbors. I want them to succeed, but they NEED to rethink their sushi selection. We ordered 4 rolls and NONE of them had actual cuts of fish in them. Instead, it looked like they took a filet of fish, and processed it in a blender or food processor until it looked like cat food, then they’d shove that in the roll. It’s honestly vomit inducing and repulsive. For the prices they charge, you can go to Tsunami at any of their three locations, or head downtown to Takashi. Those are top end places with great selections, and Mizu has the gall to charge as much as them. To the owners, please tear your sushi menu down and start from scratch. By the plating of all your rolls, I know that your sushi chefs know what they’re doing, but they need to work with better ingredients. Either that, or cut all your pricing by half because your product is not worth what you charge. I wish you luck, but you will not get my business again, It only took two strikes to be out on this at bat.

I have eaten here 6 times now; 4 to go and 2 times in. I get the cooked meats to go and sushi for stay. Staff has been extremely friendly and the food has been superb every time. The fish is high quality and the beef teriyaki is the best I’ve had. Instead of driving to downtown, give this place a try!
