We recently dined at Shogun and had a decent experience overall. Colin was our server and was very attentive throughout the meal. He made us feel welcomed and checked on us regularly, which we appreciated.
We ordered the steak teppanyaki, salmon teppanyaki, and the Skydive roll. The roll was decent, and the steak was good. Unfortunately, the salmon was overcooked and a bit dry, which was disappointing. The overall food quality was just okay — not bad, but not especially memorable either.
One thing I did notice was that I didn’t see much of a non-alcoholic drink selection listed, which would have been helpful.
Overall, it was an average experience with great service from Colin, but the food didn’t quite stand out.

Went the first time the other day with my husband for lunch. We sat at a regular table and he got steak and rice hibachi and I got the chicken and shrimp with fried rice. Typically I go to ichibon which is another Japanese hibachi place on the other side of town. I’ve been desperately craving that kind of food so we decided to give this a try. So this place is pretty average prices actually they’re cheaper than ichibon so I appreciated that because for my husband and I to both get a big plate plus drinks other than water it was around $50 before tip. At the other place I’ve gone to that would’ve been easily $65 before tip. So I did appreciate that the prices aren’t too outrageous. The food was good and flavorful. Is it my favorite hibachi ever? No. However seeing as it’s quite close to my house and I do crave that kind of food often I would definitely come back. Next time I’d love to bring my son to experience his first hibachi place! 4/5 as I’m just used to the flavors at the other place so that’s what I’m comparing it to.

I agree with other customers that The food has been getting worse. The rice is often crunchy (not sure if it is undercooked or stale) and even fried it wasn’t worth eating this last trip. I made sure to order $60 worth of food to stay within my budget. When I receive My bill it was $136.00. I overpaid for very mediocre service and food. The staff who cooked our food at this Japanese restaurant spoke Spanish with the family from Mexico the entire time as if they all knew each other. We pretty much got ignored the entire time. I don’t see why my bill was over $100. They charged $18 for gratuity and $8 for taxes and charged for extra rice. Just money hungry. Why sit is with others if you are going to make us share then overspend.
Don’t go here if you are African American. Honestly, you will regret it . The floors are sticky and the food needed some flavor. I do not recommend.

I had a light lunch here today because I was craving some sushi. The food was fresh, and the meal was affordable, but the best part by far was the service and meaningful conversation I was fortunate enough to experience with the lovely Tianne.

We had our infant son with us and decided to forego the hibachi and just dine in. The rolls were superb and generously priced. Their menu had pictures of all the rolls which was very appreciated. Highly recommend.

Disappointing, place has gone downhill. I would say service was awful, but cant make that claim as the service was non-existent. 5:15 reservation for 6, got seated, there was only one other group seated for hibachi in the entire place. After 15 minutes without anyone coming by to even get a drink order, we left and on the way out are asked if everything is ok…gave them my two cents. Room we were seated in was not the cleanest so may have saved us at the end of the night as we went to El Tiempo for great service, food, and margaritas.

Visiting from Memphis Tn and from the entrance it seems a little outdated! The wait time for the cooks to come service us was ridiculous! The sushi was almost the best I’ve ever had had gotten full by the time the cooks came! The waiter got my ticket wrong added 2 things to my bill that wasn’t mine but they fixed it! The hibachi was the worst I’ve ever had! They don’t have yum yum sauce they only have some mustard mess it taste like paint thinner no lie taste it n see!!! Wouldn’t return if I ever go back

We recently visited this restaurant for the first time to celebrate our daughter’s birthday. The food was absolutely delicious, and our chef was extremely entertaining. As well, we were appreciative that the restaurant reached out to us to inform us that our reservation had been changed by 30 minutes to ensure they accommodated all of our guests, however upon our arrival, we still had to wait to be seated.
Con: If you have a large party for the hibachi, all guests must be present before they seat you.

The food is good but the place is not what I expected. It disappointed that I could see lots of cleaning products, including a mop from my table. The waiter was not even paying attention to us (considering the restaurant was almost empty).

The food AMAZING. The service IMPECCABLE. The atmosphere very nice. This is a great date night spot or place to have a party. The outside has a beautiful waterfall and they play live music on the weekends so definitely a go to spot!
