Food is great and the owner is very nice. However, please update your Google/online hours. I just came to purchase food at 7:20, on a Sunday, and the doors were locked. Your hours say until 9PM. Very disappointing.

3-Star Review for Chez Guyto (Haitian Restaurant)

I have mixed feelings about this location of Chez Guyto. Having been to another one of their spots before, I think I prefer the food there—but I *have* to give credit where it’s due: their rice is **incredible**. When they have it, that is.

The rice (Djon Djon) was fluffy, flavorful, and honestly the star of the meal—I couldn’t get enough of it. But here’s the issue: they don’t always have it available. As a tourist, if I only had one day to try this place based on its reputation, I’d be pretty disappointed if the dish I came for wasn’t even on the menu. Consistency matters!

The Tasso was baked instead of fried, which gave it a softer, slightly slimy texture that I wasn’t a huge fan of—but I’ll admit, it was still tasty and well-seasoned. The restaurant itself is small, so it can get crowded quickly, but that’s understandable since they’re a popular small business.

The service was great—the staff was super kind and even let me sample a few things I was unsure about. Very patient and welcoming! The location was a bit out of the way for me, but their signature pink hut with the two mannequins out front made it easy to spot.

Overall, a decent experience with some highs (that rice!!) and some lows (inconsistent menu, texture preferences). If they had the Djon Djon rice guaranteed, this would easily be 4 or 5 stars. Worth a try, but maybe call ahead to see if they’re serving what you’re craving!

This little spot got all my stars ⭐️ ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ this authentic Haitian food was so satisfying. The white rice looked and taste great. The fried plantain was soft. The griot was freshly made. Overall the food taste was amazing!! My plate was stacked with food I even had leftover for the next day.
I had to leave a couple of dollars in the tip jar because i knew I was going to have a great dinner!

Let me start off by saying the food is good. Me and my family eat here at least once a week. My issue is the change in the recent food portions. I spend easily $50 to $60 when I come here. But recently they being stingy with the food.
I paid $14 for this plate of fried turkey. It only came with 3 pieces. When I said something to the lady serving me she said anymore pieces would cost me extra. You raise the prices and give less food. Please do better, us loyal customers shouldn’t be treated like that

Delicious home cooked haitian food in a take
Out counter style. Offering food take out style. Food is ready made. In a cafeteria style galley restaurant.
I recommend ordering ahead to avoid wait in line and ensuring the food you want is available that day.

CASH ONLY!! Come Prepared.

Good portions. Deliciously fried and stewed meat like chicken, pork, fish and goat. My favorite are the fried turkey and the fried goat. Rice and peas are typical but I like the white rice and daily beans since I don’t make it at home often and it feels like a a warm hug when I eat it.

They also have rotating daily specials like soup joumou, boillion etc. i always stop here when I’m
Home.

Free easy parking located on a busy street.
Popular spot with locals.

I am beyond disappointed and upset with the experience I had at your restaurant. After eating your so-called “Haitian spaghetti,” both my son and I ended up with food poisoning. The dish had absolutely no flavor, and the quality was downright unacceptable.

On top of that, the customer service was terrible. The staff member taking our order had AirPods in and was clearly not paying attention — completely unprofessional and disrespectful. It felt like we were bothering him just by being there.

This experience was not only frustrating, it was dangerous to our health. I will NEVER return, and I strongly suggest you take a hard look at your food safety and service standards before more people get sick. Honestly, a place serving food this carelessly should not be in business.
