When we arrived we were so happy with our reserved table, my mom loves live jazz music and we were sat close to the live music/band. The band made my mom’s night, shouting her out by name, which came to a surprise since we had only mentioned her name to our server. They took requests and created a great environment.
Our server was also super helpful and kind from the start. He made sure we were comfortable and offered us the best recommendations. This place does a beautiful job of building the relationships with their customers and makes it a very personal experience, which we find very important!
The food was delicious. Every dish we ordered had incredible flavor and textures.
Thank you so much Rustica for a wonderful and memorable night! We will be back for sure! Thank you again!
Upon arrival at Rustica Lounge Bar and Restaurant for some of us as first-timers, my partner, our friends, and I were greeted by the staff and got a table at the front where thick bare wood beams stretched over the space in the glow of a sparkling chandelier with a cozy and relaxing vibe. The decor was very inviting with the velvet-upholstered chairs, modern fireplaces, and very cool art that adorned the walls, adding a great feel. Besides the indoor dining, this establishment also offers an outdoor patio garden for one’s dining pleasure to enjoy when the weather is nice.
Their menu comprised salads, steaks, fish, pasta, and more. As appetizers, we selected the Charred Octopus, Crispy Artichoke and Garlic Shrimp. For our main meal, we decided on the Fettuccine Mare E Monti (opted without mushrooms), Filet Mignon 6oz., Chicken Capri, Duck Alla Rustica, and a side of Four Cheese Au Gratin. We even saved room for dessert and got the Ricotta Pistachio Cheesecake and Warm Chocolate Souffle. Complimentary bread with butter and olive oil started our meal and to wash them down with Lychee Martini, French Martini, and Jersey Lemonade.
The various dishes were crafted with high quality so one knows your meal is one you can feel good about. Truly delicious food prepared using locally sourced ingredients, with skilled attention and superb presentation. The band skillfully played jazz standards during our meal. Staff were very warm and friendly and made us feel very valued all evening. Our server was Visar.
We had an amazing 4-hour experience with good value for our money, which we can recommend.
We started with appetizers: the crab cake and the calamari. Presentation was nice, but taste-wise, both fell a bit short. The calamari, though plentiful, was overly crunchy, bordering on tough rather than crisp. The crab cake was fine—nothing standout, and certainly not bursting with flavor as I had hoped. For the price, I expected a more refined and memorable start to the meal.
Thankfully, the main course delivered. The entrées were flavorful and well-prepared, which helped balance out our initial impressions. While I can’t speak to the full menu, the quality of the main dishes showed that the kitchen is capable of more.
The ambiance is cozy, and the restaurant features a lovely outdoor patio area, which unfortunately was closed during our visit. It’s a shame, as it would have added a nice touch to the dining experience.
In summary, Rustica is a decent spot with some high points, especially when it comes to the main courses. That said, the appetizers and the overall value for the price might leave some diners underwhelmed. It’s worth a visit, but be prepared to pay premium prices for a meal that may not fully meet upscale expectations.
Service was very attentive. The drinks were absolutely amazing. The appetizers and main entrees were also good. I just needed touch more salt. Some parts of our choices were bland but I will not short them a star because the overall experience was really good.
The decorum and ambiance was so cozy and relaxing. It elevated my visit here that much more.
I will be going back.
I purchased multiple Groupons for a weekend dinner, as the listing clearly reflects higher pricing for Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. When I called to make a reservation for a group of 10, I was told the vouchers “cannot be used on Saturday” and that multiple Groupons cannot be combined — meaning we would have to sit at separate tables to use the four vouchers we already paid for.
None of these restrictions are disclosed in the listing or fine print. Charging weekend prices but then refusing Saturday use is misleading.
To make matters worse, the staff member I spoke with, Victor, who refused to give his name at first, was rude, dismissive, and downright nasty.
This feels like bait-and-switch behavior, and I would strongly warn others to clarify all terms before purchasing. I have escalated this to Groupon and hope management addresses these bad practices promptly.
