Fantastic Value and Flavor at Hy-Vee Market Grill – Olathe, KS

This might be the best $9.80 I’ve ever spent for lunch — and that’s with a Veteran discount! The pork tenderloin sandwich was absolutely massive — hot, perfectly crunchy, and full of flavor. The fries were equally impressive: golden, crisp, and fresh out of the fryer. Everything was served piping hot and plated beautifully with fresh lettuce, tomato, onion, and pickles.

The atmosphere is casual and friendly, and service was quick and attentive. For the price, portion size, and quality, you won’t find a better deal in Olathe. Hy-Vee Market Grill at Black Bob and 151st has really nailed it — highly recommend this spot for a satisfying, classic Midwestern tenderloin meal done right.

It’s sad to see this establishment just a shell of what it once was. I enjoyed going in and having a drink and a meal while talking with Anne and Caitlin. I visited several times each week. Most of the time I would have a beer or two and go grocery shopping. I just can’t understand how someone in a management position would come up with the idea ” let’s shut this down”.
Just sad and a really bad idea.

Great food, great drink specials, terrific service. Daily food and drink specials that will tempt your stomach and your wallet. Happy hour bar specials are tremendous. One of my go-to spots for hearty, inexpensive breakfasts. Bartenders Anne and Caitlin are second to none. Definitely recommend and a stop every time I am in town!!

The food here is amazing! I love the variety and the options give me meal planning ideas. The sushi is always fresh and the Chinese food is above average, maybe 4 stars alone. The store itself is very clean and nicely mapped. The food presentation isn’t top notch, but it works for me…

It probably seems weird to eat at a grocery store, but this is a legitimate restaurant with tables/booths, a bar, and several TVs. It’s attached to the grocery and has a doorway to the grocery but it’s got it’s own entrance as well. They have good food and drink deals every day. We got totchos which were really good. We were the only ones in the restaurant on a Sunday night, which was good for covid reasons and also if you have kids, nice not to worry about them bothering anyone.

I’ve been coming to the market grille for years. Recently, corporate has decided to drastically down size its offerings. Instead of catering to guests who could sit at tables and the bar and order, you now need to order from a kiosk, get a number, and wait for someone from the kitchen to bring it to you. Table service is no longer available along with any type of customer service. Hours, too, are condensed from 6-2 with all alcohol sales being discontinued May 1. I don’t know what corporate moron made this decision, but he took no account of the customer. Very disappointing. The bright spot is Ann, which works in the morning and Caitlin, which works in the late afternoon and evenings, or at least she used to.

Walked in to eat on a Saturday late afternoon and no one came to help us. Stood there for 5 mins then left.

No service in table. This is not a restaurant anymore. And food is cold and you have to go get your own water and drinks.

Currently Hi-Vee Market Grille has made some dining changes that are disappointing. They no longer have waiters and have closed down the bar. At times you have to wait on yourself for coffee and water.

Went in for coffee. The place was empty. I’m sure it has something with corporate changing away from table service to that of a Cafe style. Anne is welcoming and ready to make the best of a challenging situation. I didn’t eat because my last 2breakfasts were bad and because you pay up front there is no recourse. Corporate needs to rethink this decision. I do not recommend the market grille. Find somewhere else if you want a good breakfast.
