Fully Italian staff made the whole experience feel way more authentic. From the outside—wooden interior, beachy North PB vibe—it looks like a by-the-slice pizza spot, but it’s nothing like that once you step in. Inside, I’d honestly expect to pay $75 a person based on the design, lighting, and overall look of the bar and tables.
Our Italian waiter was super friendly and actually enjoyed sharing the backstory of the restaurant. And they’re not kidding about the paper-thin pizza—might be the thinnest crust I’ve ever had. Super tasty, and the salad was solid too. Definitely a once-in-a-while heavy-carb treat.

One of the best thin crust tomato souce pizza in San Diego but authentic Italian taste !!! They Use variety of fresh Italian cheeses. Their housemade focaccia bread is worth trying. Tried their Scrocchiarella Nutella Dessert is a must try ✅… It is served warm ..a with mascarpone cream, something unique.
Given the weekend crowd, service speed could have been better.

Service: Big shoutout to our server, Jacques — super friendly and attentive!
Food: The house salad was really refreshing, and the pizza totally reminded us of our trip to Italy — thin crust and so authentic! The espresso and latte were both excellent. We loved everything we ordered and had such a nice, relaxing brunch on the outdoor patio.
Parking: Easy to find parking in the early afternoon, just keep in mind there’s a 2-hour street parking limit.

Ambrogio15 is the real deal. We ordered a classic Pepperoni and the Salamino Piccante, and both were exceptional. The thin crust is absolute perfection—the dough is exquisite, light, and beautifully blistered from the wood fire. Every ingredient tastes fresh and intentional, and this is not American-style pizza; it’s truly authentic Italian pizza. Each simple ingredient is elevated with unmistakable Italian excellence. The service was friendly and prompt, the space is clean and inviting, and you can sit inside or outside. It’s the perfect spot for a sunny lunch, and they even have heaters for cozy nighttime dining. Easily one of the best authentic wood-fired pizza experiences around.

Ambrogio15 Pacific Beach is a truly authentic Italian pizza restaurant. If you don’t like thick-crust pizza, come here for their super-thin pizzas—absolutely delicious! With eight people, we averaged around $25 per person, ordered three appetizers and four pizzas. Great value for money!

This review is long overdue. BEST thin crust pizza you’ll ever have. Owners and staff are super friendly and always try their best to deliver the best experience at their restaurant. I have a local business here in PB and I’ve sent countless customers here with nothing but positive feedback. MUST TRY if you like thin crust pizza!!

Our crust was hard and the middle was soggy. They have so many great reviews that this seems like an error. Maybe we hit them on a bad night or something.
If you like wine, I recommend reviewing their online menu instead of relying on the photos in reviews because there was a huge shift in their pricing. For example, in 2016, the second most expensive red on the menu was $49. In 2026, the least expensive red is $59. The $89 Sangiovese we ordered was not worth that much.

Pizza was disgusting. I made better pizza as a 4 year old. It was under cooked, paper thin and floppy with cold tomato sauce and cheese falling off it. This wasn’t a pizza, it was a crepe in a tomato bath with pieces of cheese on top. I truly wish I could go back to a time where I never tasted a pizza so bad.

EDIT: the owner reached out to us apologizing which was very kind. I guess there was a mix up where they thought the gf pizza was an appetizer. Just a misunderstanding
The ambiance is sweet. But we ordered, 2 salads, 1 gluten free pizza, 1 gluten free focaccia, and 3 other pizzas.
They brought out the gluten free items and salads all at once in about 15mins and then we waited another half an hour (45mins total) for the other 3 pizzas.
Perhaps if we weren’t dining with 2 toddlers (we had a 5:30 res and it was almost empty when we arrived) it wouldn’t have been so frustrating.
The pies themselves were good. The gluten free was good when it was hot… but hard/chewy as it cooled (as most sadly are). But always so happy to have an option of any kind. Just wish the service was a little better…
