The Thunder Road Cafe in Dublin is an outstanding venue for a celebration or meal with friends. The design is stylish with something fascinating to look at in every space of the cafe whether it’s a motorbike hanging from the ceiling or some wider pop culture memorabilia. The menu is excellent and what could be average such as a chicken burger is elevated to outstanding by forensic attention to detail on every ingredient. This is all backed up by excellent service from the superb staff. We were celebrating a birthday during our visit and they made it a special memorable night. The atmosphere is also worthy of a mention. If you’re in Dublin a visit to the Thunder Road Cafe should be a priority.

In Dublin for a long weekend for my husbands birthday and booked to come for our first night so we had something sorted. It was absolutely fantastic. Food, service, ease to get to, everything was excellent. I’d put in the booking that is was a birthday occasion and we had a lovely balloon on the table, aswell as getting a ice cream with a sparkler in at the end too. Above and beyond service. Would highly reccomend to everyone. Candice our server was super friendly and helpful. We were in for 6pm so even got to use the early bird menu 2 courses for 21.95, portions or flavour did not go down for this. Might try and go back for brunch!!

Leaving a review on my friend behalf’s and mine:
We had a wonderful time! REALLY! I’ve never visited this place before and I was shocked on how our attendant Kate was such a fantastic person! Top tier service and hospitality! The food was amazing, full of flavors, not just a pretty plate! I had the pleasure to try their new Atomic Spicy sauce, and it was powerfull, yet you could feel all the flavors they incorporated into it. The cookie skillet was addictive, very well balanced, and a must order! The ambience is casual, relaxed, and fun at the same time! Well done to the whole team! Very few places nowadays are able to hold a very balanced and high standard like this.
Thank you for the lovely time.

Thunder Road Cafe is such a fun spot with an energy that hits you the second you walk inside. The vibes are fantastic—loud music, lively atmosphere, and a music selection that keeps the place feeling electric all night long. If you’re someone who loves a bit of volume and a great playlist while you eat, this place absolutely delivers.
The interior design is impressive, too. The place is too hip! You can tell a lot of thought went into making the space visually exciting. The arrangements and layout feel modern, creative, and very well put together, adding to the overall experience. It’s one of those places where you look around and appreciate the aesthetic as much as the food.
Speaking of food—it’s great. Tasty, well-prepared, and works perfectly with the atmosphere. It’s the kind of menu where you can order confidently knowing you’ll enjoy what you get. My only real issue is the pricing. The menu is definitely on the expensive side, more than I think it needs to be. The experience is great, but the cost can feel a bit high for what’s offered. If they could adjust the pricing or add more value-friendly options, it would make the place even better and cost effective.
Overall, amazing vibes, great music, solid food, and a beautifully designed space. Fix the pricing, and it would be close to perfect.

I’ve been going to Thunder Road Cafe for many years and I can honestly say it’s the best restaurant in Temple Bar. The staff are a huge plus as they are all efficient, friendly and fun. Food is excellent and they serve amazing cocktails. The decor is unlike anywhere else and includes motorbikes. There is always music playing and also live music, but you can still have a normal conversation. If you haven’t booked and have to wait for a table you can have a drink at the lovely bar and it’s never a long wait. If you’re there for the night you’ll most likely be dancing at your table, on your, chair or even on the table itself and the staff dance too. Great for celebrations, lunch or dinner. The other important thing is that despite being situated in Temple Bar, it’s prices are not over expensive. There were three of us, we had cocktails at the bar, 2 starters 3 main meals and an amazing sharing dessert. During our meal we had 3 shots and 3 cocktails and it cost us just over €50 per head. It’s the first place I recommend to visitors to Dublin. I will always be a recurring customer.

Everyone is so nice and the food is so so tasty. My absolute favourite place to eat in the centre of Dublin.

We ordered buffalo wings and calamari & prawns for starters, double bacon smash with animal fries and rigatoni with chicken and chorizo. It was so so good. The portions are filling and overall everything was beautiful.
