Stopped by Native Son Agave Bar & Kitchen in Glenwood Springs while driving through and grabbed lunch. I ordered the shrimp tacos — great flavor and super satisfying. I wasn’t there for long, but the staff was friendly and attentive, which made for a great quick stop. The drinks looked amazing and beautifully presented, but I stuck with water since I was on the road. Cool vibe overall — definitely a place I’d come back to when I have more time to hang out.

Great quick and tasteful meals for our family. We’re time constrained for our next stop and the server was extremely helpful and attentive. The chicken was delicious with a great kick of fresh condiments but my favorite was the Mac and cheese. Also I enjoyed the butternut squash mashed. The ribs were delightful. And the local beers were good.

Visiting Glenwood Springs this past week, we decided on a light dinner of tacos after traveling all day. I am unsure how they have a 4.5 review on their site. It was dinner time and there was only one other couple in the restaurant eating. There were a number of people in the bar area having drinks. It took at least 30 minutes for the order to come out. It was only tacos! The chicken tacos were mushy and bland. They boasted on their website delicious cocktails. The margaritas were far from delicious. There are many other restaurants in town that have great food and cocktails as we discovered the following day. Stay away from Native Son restaurant. Cool name and logo, but it stops there.

Native Son definitely does the job when you need it, but wasn’t necessarily a favorite. I stopped in on a Friday night, grateful for the variety of vegan food options. The food was good, just quite greasy, but if that’s what you’re into then it’s a great spot. The service was off putting and confusing. There was a sign that said order at the bar, so as I go up to get menus and order at the bar, I get directed back to my seat because a server came around with menus.
The server and the bartenders didn’t make any communication very easy, I had to pull info out of them and they did not want to talk at all, which is fine but it was an unfriendly vibe.
Appreciate the vegan food though! The tacos were great.

I was very impressed with the service at Native Son! I come up to Glenwood Springs to get away from the busy city life in Denver and this was a new place that actually reopened in August of 2018. The service was impeccable and our waitress was very nice. We ended up meeting the Owner of the place, Jack Montou. He was very kind and my friends and I were waiting for our order of cheesecake for about 20 minutes or so. He came to check if we needed anything and we told him we had been waiting on our order but our check was brought instead without the cheesecake listed. He went back to the kitchen and came out with the Manager and they both gave us cheesecakes on the house! Not one, but two! They were very sweet and very down to earth and were apologetic about having us wait for so long. The wait wasn’t that bad, but they are VERY attentive to their customers and maintaining their impeccable service. I was HIGHLY IMPRESSED! It’s also the only bar that serves food after 10pm in Glenwood.
