A friend and I decided to come here on 2/5/26 for Chicago Restaurant Week. We both had never been here before. We walk in and notice how pretty the restaurant is. They seated us in the back of the restaurant. Our server’s name was Patty. She was friendly and helpful.

The dinner here is a full EXPERIENCE. We were given a complimentary broth first and that hit the spot because it was a cold night. They have a place inside the table where a fire can be lit for cooking meat. They cooked the pork belly and the steak for me which were both good. They are very generous in the “freebies” they give you to eat with the meal. I really enjoyed the flavored radishes and fishcakes. They also have kimchi and a few other items.

Staff were nice and the food was pretty good. I especially liked the chicken wings.

Things for improvement – When the freebies were put down on the table, the female waitstaff said what they were but my friend and I couldn’t understand what she was saying because it was relayed too fast. We had to ask to repeat a couple of times. As a newbie, that is a bit frustrating. Also, when we got our bill, my friend happened to notice that a 5% charge was automatically added for a “kitchen staff support fee” We both didn’t like that at all. If you are going to do that, explain to us verbally that is a fee they would like to add to the bill and ASK if it’s okay to do so. I didn’t see until I got home that the receipt at the bottom said that it’s an optional fee which is too late by then to have it taken off. The restaurant is responsible for paying it’s workers, not the diner. The tip we had no problem with, it’s standard and Patty did a good job.

Parking can be a bit tricky to find due to the area. We parked kinda down and around the corner where there was metered parking.

It was a fun experience but my friend and I agreed it wasn’t a place we could see ourselves coming back to.

One of my favorite new Korean spots in Chicago! Tucked away just outside the busy Fulton Market area, I’m a sucker for “corner spots” and Perilla makes great use of that peculiar layout.

The menu has diverse food and drink options, allowing for both KBBQ or family-style shared meals. While some items feel a bit pricey, I think the quality matches the $.

Here are some highlights:
• Soondubu Jjigae: amazing, slightly spicy veggie stew
• scallion pancake: a staple dish, done right
• seared kimchi: another classic shared dish
• soju cocktails: I tried the Cloud 9, which felt like a soju-spin on an espresso martini — fun drink!
• ice cream dessert: vanilla bean with powdered matcha and chocolate shavings on top. A nice suprise were bits of dehydrated strawberry underneath!

Beautiful place filled with beautiful people. Server made me a special mojito that was awesome. Highly recommend the ribs, spicy and amazing. Bulgogi is delicious.

Stellar restaurant. Great quality food and service. Everyone was very nice and made sure our dining experience memorable. Wish we would’ve had more time to enjoy additional items on the menu. We had to be somewhere else that evening. Highlights are definitely the meats (quality), cheese corn and shishito peppers. Loved that our waiter gave us the option to cook our own meats. Loved that he also described every dish. I highly recommend this restaurant. We walked in on a Saturday night and did not realize that reservations were needed. We were accommodated. Thank you for your excellent customer service. We left feeling very satisfied with our meal and service. We will definitely return if we are ever in town again.

A mixed KBBQ experience that in my opinion didn’t quite justify the premium price. The ambience is sleek and woodsy, and the BBQ is offered in both a la carte and set-menu with flavorful and high quality meat cuts. However, the portions were disappointingly small, and I also found it strange that you have to pay for banchan and lettuce (which are basics at any other Korean spot). Despite the charge, the refills often take a long time.

The service was a bit uneven. The staff helped grill the meat at the table side which was a nice touch. However, there was an awkward gap between the BBQ and the rice and soup entrees that came much later, when it would have been nice to enjoy everything together.

The beet tartare (not beef tartare!) and the scallion pancakes are both standout apps and worth checking out if you are paying a visit.

For the price, I expected either standout food quality or top notch service, but neither fully landed. It’s overall worth a try, but not a place I’d hurry back to.

Excellent Korean takeout experience. After trying some of their items, it quickly became clear why Michelin awarded them the Bib Gourmand four times in a row since 2021.

The food was plentiful, fresh and very tasty. As starters, we enjoyed their Banchan set and scallion Muchim, followed by Bibimbap and Jjajangmyeon noodles as mains. Instead of hitting you with (too) intense flavors, everything came in subtle yet delicious variations of what you’d expect from Korean cuisine.

We will definitely return to check out more of their menu!

An authentic jewel within a jewel…

Where to start with this place… well, the food and dishes are well crafted and high product quality, the staff was knowledgeable and the owners not only have it in their DNA, they are also pro’s and know what they are doing.
After some careful consideration I decided to celebrate my wife’s birthday with this first stop for dinner. We both come with a long background in Asian Cuisine experience after our 9 years living and traveling there. That’s why we are usually very critical around Asian restaurants outside Asia. Just because we hate chefs and restaurants owners offering an unrealistic taste of their own culture outside their territories. But this wont happen to you here. We had a great time with not only great food, but also well equipped tables, state of the art bbq where you can walk out and not smell like a 100 year old grill yourself.
But the place has a hidden gem, an Easter egg, not advertised, not promoted, there’s no need… quality and taste speak for itself so when you go here… try to find it so that, like me, you will have to come back. Oh, one last thing… good luck, there’s months waiting list already. They must have been doing something really well for to wait this long.

Overall like the place. It’s good no complaints all around. It’s a overpriced for what you get but there is no skimping on quality. Don’t like the fact they charge extra just for the side dishes and lettuce wraps which is normally standard at any Kbbq or korean restaurant. No desire to go back but wouldn’t be upset if friends wanted to go again as well as would suggest to people try.

Overall great time just not worth the extra cost compared to other Korean BBQ places we know us.

Service was best I’ve ever had. 5 people helped & served us throughout our dinner. There was never a moment we waited for anything. The food was beyond delicious- you must try the fried chicken. Looking forward to trying their other restaurant.

Great Korean BBQ steakhouse! The food is delicious and high quality. It is a bit on the pricier side, especially since the vegetable set comes with an additional charge. That said, the overall experience is enjoyable, and I’d still recommend it for a special occasion or treat-yourself night.
