This was some of the worst Mexican food I’ve had in a while. Not only was the food bland, greasy, and the portions either too much or too little- but the service was horrible just to add on top of that. It was me and a party of 12 other people, my family just coming back from snow tubing and all of us wish we went to the Mcdonalds across the street. Not only were we split up at two different tables because they simply didn’t have the size to accommodate us, but my party also witnessed them turn away another party of 9 because they refused to push two tables together to accommodate them.
The food that you will be receiving at this establishment is nothing special and literally something that comes prepped in a bag, probably frozen and not even cooked by the actual staff. The portions range from too little and a disgusting amount that isn’t even appetizing to handle once you’re looking at it.
To top all of this off, the service was horrendous. Not only was our waitress rude, but she was also inattentive and ruined the overall dining experience. I also don’t see much of a point of a waitress even being at this restaurant since they expect you to get everything yourself for the most part? Including your sauces and refilling your own drinks.
Just don’t go here.
Ok, we have a vacation house in the area and decided to give Valle De Bravo Mexican Grill a try. I didn’t read the reviews before we came in but as we sat at the table I gave them a quick look. 3.8 from Google and I was like, we’re here so let’s do this.
Things to know:
1) They will bring you unlimited Tortilla chips. But, they have a salsa bar which means you have to get your own salsa. No big deal, like some reviews made it out to be.
2) If you order tacos, same goes as the chips, there is taco bar with all the fixings that you have to get up and get yourself. Again, no big deal like some reviews made it out to be.
3) Food was delicious and we would definitely come back again.
4) Service was blunt and to the point. I think we had the manager as our server. He was not rude or unprofessional, he was just straight to the point. “What do you want” and we he gave us the bill, all he said was “here ya go” and walked away. I saw other servers engaging in conversation and being very polite.
All and all you won’t be disappointed, just be prepared not to be pampered or treated like a princess if the manager serves you.. lol
I got the combo #23 and the wife special #7, very good and large portions..
They only seemed slight annoyed by us (lol). We were a rowdy group of eight, 4 kids- 4 adults. We came in hot, hungry and asked for a round of waters for the table before even opening the menu.
The food was excellent & came out really fast. I had a tamale & the mushroom quesadilla (pictured). But we ordered a bunch of different stuff & not one complaint about the food from all 8 of us- picky kid included.
The salsa/toppings bar was convenient. This is what you use for sauce/taco toppings for those writing reviews complaining about getting tacos with just meat.
We needed to split the bill between the 3 families in our group and this was handled very well & was easier than most places as it was split right in front of us using a tablet.
Overall, we’d eat here again! Kid friendly, outdoor porch seating. They already had a larger group inside when we got there and could only accommodate us outside. Which was actually what we preferred.
Service: Very Unfriendly, Aggressive
• Waiter never introduced his name
• Chips were casually flung by
• Person taking our order started with “What do you want?”
• Management argued that we said beans and not rice, then proceeded to take the plate and said it would be ten more minutes or have a special order…we politely had to argue to keep the plate
Other:
• No salsa for chips provided unless asked
• No salt and pepper available at the table
• Tip choices are custom, 25%, and 30%
