Ok, so, this place is a hard nut to crack. Ive been here twice before, and wasnt very impressed either time, but, so many people will say this is great barbecue. So I wanted to give it another shot. Let me set this record straight. There are 2 bbq places in Springfield, Tn, the other one, has really really great bbq. Baldwins misses a huge mark on great bbq by a long shot. However, fried chicken…pretty darn good. Fried pickles…best I ever had. From what I could tell, what they fry is the best food they got. Unfortunately, nothing is technically fresh, its all under heat lamps. My moms friend ordered a stuffed baked potato, and was giving a potato, a cup of cold cheese, and a small tray of bbq, so he could make it himself. I’ve never seen that before. However, aside from that, very very friendly staff. Very, very clean restaurant. BUT, it should be called Baldwins fried chicken.

This barbecue restaurant is outstanding! The meat was tender, smoky, and full of flavor, and the portions were generous. The ribs fell right off the bone, the brisket was incredibly juicy, and the sides were just as impressive. The staff was friendly and attentive, and the atmosphere was warm and welcoming. If you’re a BBQ lover, this place is a must-try!

I have been there many times now over the years. The BBQ is delicious and the place has been clean every time. Whenever my wife and I are in the area we try to stop for a bar b que stuffed potato that they load up with bacon, sour cream, butter before they put a fairly generous portion of their marvelous BBQ. If you want some of the best BBQ I have found in Tennessee I suggest you give Baldwin and Sons your business.

The first thing you’ll notice about this place is how dirty it is inside. Then, if you’re like me you will notice how rude the goofballs behind the counter are.
The BBQ is just run of the mill, they benefit from having a restaurant in a town that literally has no good food options so everybody thinks they’re great I guess lol. If the food was better, I’d be OK with the attitude, but these people are just some jerks that are rude to people for absolutely no reason..
I saw them making fun of a customer who was trying to order food because he has his wife on the phone with him.

Large portions for the meat also very tender. The side dishes are very good as well. I like the potato wedges with sour cream.

The BBQ is good, not great … a 4.0 out of 5.0. Not much hickory smoke flavor. I prefer pulled pork over the more chopped consistency that they have. The portions are small for the money, both for the BBQ and sides (see photo for size of container vs black pepper shaker – $28 for two plates). My sides, white beans and salad dressing cole slaw, were tasty. Cornbread was good. Would have added points for more generous portions and longer strand pulled pork that holds moisture of meat better. Simply increase portion sizes and this would then be a 4.5-4.7!

I went there with my family recently and decided to try their BBQ. I got Chicken Tenders and wedges. I ate all of it. I thought it was fine. Later that day, I ended up getting food poisoning and proceeded to throw up twice. I will never be eating there again and the actual restaurant had flies that kept on landing on the food they were servicing people.

BBQ was ok. Ordered fries and they are 3 potato wedges. They are not doing ANY refills due to COVID they say yet each table had shakers, bbq sauce, ketchup all touched all day long. Not even a paper plate. Your food is in containers on a tray all separate. Staff doesn’t wear masks it seems its more about profit than COVID. Almost $10 for the tray.
